[Mafia Game Over] Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark - Mafia Wins!

Fair enough Peace.

This was the part that I thought made the game experimental. The power of the objects. It took a different way of looking at the game to utilize them to the fullest. The "normal" power roles were partly nullified by the mafia roles. But the other roles the mafia were exposed to.

The Roles and stuff

Good Guys – have 1 NK per Night in addition to their own abilities

1 Indiana Jones - Player : Mafia Mirror + 1 x Extra Bonus Night Kill by Pistol – Any action attempted against him will reflect back upon the player who performed the action. Thus a Vig Kill will kill the Vigger, A voyeur or Tracker will see their own actions, Cop will see their own alignment. The Mirror Effect does NOT cover the Ark - so it can still be taken from him. The Rolestopper and Governer abilities will work as they affect other people and do not touch the mirror.

2 Dr. Marcus Brody - Mish Mafia Busdriver: The Bus Driver is a role that can choose to switch two players each night. Thus, any night action performed on a switched player will affect the other player targeted by the Bus Driver. The Bus Driver's night choices are only valid for that same night.

3 Marion Ravenwood: - Ishy Mafia Joat - Doc, Block or Tailor. Only one Action per Night and cannot choose the same action twice in a row.

Also holds the TRUE Staff of Ra Headpiece to start with (ability will pass to another if she dies) Can use Headpiece to Find out who currently Holds the Ark - but will only get a TRUE result if she still hold the True headpiece.

People who hold an Amulet can attempt to take the Ark. They can either attempt to keep it themselves or give it to someone else. They have one attempt per Night. They can also choose to Keep or Swap the amulet ONCE during the Day Phase but any exchange will not actually occur until the start of the Night Phase. At the start of the Night Phase they will be given either a true or false Ark Location, depending on whether they hold the real amulet or not. They can then decide if they want to take it or not. Any false location will be provided by entering ALL remaining players who do NOT currently hold the Ark into random.org and letting it pick a name.

Be aware: There is also a FALSE Staff of Ra Headpiece in the game. If only one party swaps, it gets swapped, if both parties swap, it stays where it is.

4 Sallah: - Hallia & John Snow 2x Mafia Janitor: The Janitor is an anti-Town role who "cleans up the body" after its kill, thus preventing players from learning anything about the player when they flip. At daybreak, it is simply said that the player died with no information about their role or their alignment

*******

5 Jock Lindsey - Cloud Good Guy Symp. 1 x Rolestopper OR 1 x Governor. You can either try and stop Night Actions from affecting the player of your choice OR stop a Lynch during Twilight. If you choose a Good Guy, you will be able to see their QT. You will count as a Member of the Mafia Team for voting purposes.

6 Simon Katanga - Talya Good guy Symp. 1 x Rolestopper OR 1 x Governor. You can either try and stop Night Actions from affecting the player of your choice OR stop a Lynch during Twilight. If you choose a Good Guy the Good Guys will be told who you are. You will count as a Member of the Mafia Team for voting purposes.

Bad Guys

7 Satipo - Dice: Tracker - The Tracker is an informative role that can target a player at Night and learn who, if anybody, that player targeted the same night (but not the action the player performed).

8 Barranca - Maw: Voyeur: The Voyeur is an informative role that can target a player at night and learn what was done to them that night (protection, investigation, etc), but not who did it.

9 Cairo Swordsman - Peace: 1 x Vig (Clever attack by sword) then vanilla

10 Capucchin Monkey - Arez: Vanilla

**Note for Mod only: Will die from Poison DATES if the Monkey Man does not target a Good Guy**

11 Monkey Man - Rey and WBK 1 x Vig with poison olives then vanilla - caution. If you hit someone of your own alignment, it will not be your intended target that dies.

12 The German Mechanic - Darthe: 1 x BPV then Vanilla

13 Dr Rene Belloq - Roo : Doctor. Also Can 'Take' the Ark once during the game. If he chooses to Take the Ark in the Night - can cannot also use his Doc Ability. Can NOT protect the same person twice in a row.

14 Major Toht (Gestapo Man) - Time: Holds the Fake Staff of Ra headpiece to start with (ability will pass to another Bad Guy if he dies)

Be aware: There is also a TRUE Staff of Ra Headpiece in the game. If only one party swaps, it gets swapped, if both parties swap, it stays where it is

15 Herman Dietrich - Roo: Cop - pure and simple. Apart from all the Mafia Roles messing with his viewings lol

16 Major Gobler - Basel: Can 'Take the Ark' once during the game - Then Vanilla

17 Hovitos Tribesman - Eddie: 1 x poison blow dart - Then Vanilla

18 Hovitos Tribesman - Leyrann: 1 x poison blow dart - Then Vanilla

19 Desert Excavator - Kae: Vanilla

20 Desert Excavator - Rand: Vanilla

21 German Soldier - Song of Ice and Fire: Vanilla

22 German Soldier - Cyan: Vanilla

23 Wise old Man Specific Oracle - RTE : Will be told at the start of every Day Phase if the Ark is currently in the possession of the Good or Bad Guys.

24 Reggie the Snake Post - Chuckles: Restriction Generator: Can target one player per night and 'scare them' causing an unknown effect.

Reggie's effects - roll a dice:

1. Posts limited to less than 20 words for one day phase

2. Every post must contain a quote

3. You cannot answer questions

4. You must ask a question in every post

5. Posts must be longer than 40 words

6. No quotes allowed for one Day Phase

Movable Item The Ark – Whoever holds the Ark has a Double Vote. The person in possession of the Ark must write a Will in case they die at Night and indicate who they wish to leave it to. If they do not leave a Will, Random.org will be used to randomly place it with another live player - who could be either Mafia or Town.

Movable Item Fake and Real Headpiece swap or no swap options. If only one party swaps, it gets swapped, if both parties swap, it stays where it is. Tells a Lie or the Truth about who currently holds the Ark. Can be used once per night.

People who hold an Amulet can attempt to take the Ark. They can either attempt to keep it themselves or give it to someone else. They have one attempt per night. They can choose to Keep or swap the amulet during the Day Phase. At the start of the Night Phase they will be given either a true or false Ark Location, depending on whether they hold the real amulet or not. They can then decide if they want to take it or not.

People who have a one off shot at taking the ark will always be successful - but they have to keep it themselves.

If there are multiple attempts to take the Ark during one night phase, actions will be completed in order of timestamps. The Ark moves in Real Time

All other actions will happen concurrently.

Penalties for breaching PRs

Silence

Lose vote

Can only hammer

Can only vote unvoted

-2 for him to be lynched

-1 for any lynch

WBK was not feeling well and him having the Staff was causing additional stress, so rather than him leave the game completely, we agreed to move it. That's why I told you that normally the headpiece would only move when the previous holder was dead, but not in this case - but that the previous holder would never mention that they had it.

Another reason why I was confused you didn't call Mish out when she said she used to have the Staff, as the PM makes it clear it normally only moves upon Death - and she was very much alive.

Dap, I see you complaining alot about people solely relying on Docs and other info gathering roles, which ofcourse is not always good.

But as you said yourself, making a case and twisting it, is not hard. There is rarely a "slip" to catch where it's clear that someone is scum. Often it's just

heavily exaggurated

"WOTWOTWOT!!!

What do you say about that?!"

"nah man *defends wot*"

"Oh really?!? WOTWOTWOTWOT"

"Dude, stop twisting what I've said"

"WOTWOT, dig your own grave scum"

An obvious example was when you were casing ed.
That's why info gathering roles are really, really important. The only reason I wasn't making WOT's (aside from sucking (due to break)) is , more often than not, you simply case someone because they seem scummy in your opinion.

And in most cases, it's just a town whose playstyle has been bothering you, and now suffers for that mistake.

Tl:dr, roles are very important aswell.

Obviously this game roles were very important.  I for one underestimated their importance.

In a basic game..I agree with you Dap...not here though.

Thanks Ithi.    On the staff thing I thought she said she had the real staff and it had been stolen.  Although if you remember I was on Mish's case at the end.
