(and I also thought what I argued was fairly valid too) You need to toughen up town, and not always go for the obvious. A townie must be like a sheep, I never can. And you can't expect me to give help on the QT, cause it's first day, I just apologised for getting lynched, didn't think that was enough for that. But all the arguments were valid. It's hot. The sun is relentless. It's getting more and more difficult to keep your head up. One foot in front of the other. That's all you can manage. You lick your dry lips but that doesn't help. Your tongue is as dry as your lips.

 

You pull your head up from staring at your footsteps to look at the others. They look just like you. Heads down, staring at the path just in front of them. Wearily you start to drop your head once more but freeze. A flash grabs your eye. A reflection from the sun. What was that? You look around and see Graendal walking strangely close behind Darthe. What's he doing? You wonder. Then you see it. A knife, slowly cutting the bottom of Darthe's pack. His water bottle starting to slide out. Graendals greedy hand waiting for it to drop.

 

Suddenly Darthe flips around. Graendal is frozen in mid act. Darthe punches Graendal squarely in the nose and drops him. The knife falls to the ground. Darthe then straddles Graendal, pinning him to the ground. He sees the knife. Grabs it and places it against Graendals neck. He looks up at everyone, looking for agreement. Several heads nod yes while a few still look bewildered.

 

"NO!" You shout. "Not that way."

 

Darthe looks at you, "He was trying to kill me. Maybe not with the knife but I would have surely died of thirst." Justification ringing in his voice.

 

"No," You state again. "Strip him of his pack and water. Send him on his way alone. He'll get the death he deserves out there with no water or food."

 

Darthe thinks for a moment, then agrees. Quickly all of Graendals belongings are stripped from him. He is then pushed in a different direction and told to walk or "be killed right here." Graendal slowly leaves the area. Every watches until he disappears on the horizon.

 

You turn to the others, "It's getting dark. We may as well make camp here."

*Sigh* Now I am stuck with a damned dilemma. I said I would vote GF in 3 hours. Those hours have passed. I am a man of my word yet I absolutely hate this train. It is weak and doesn't hold water IMO. So here is what I am going to do. I will be awake at 8AM to hammer if I have to. Until then I urge others to Vote Kae. This is the better train.

On the skimming thing, dunno, seems to me sometimes it's necessary to skim in order to get a general grasp on things or to focus on the dynamics that have caught you eye, find it hard to focus on all the exchanges sometimes. Then again a more careful approach is good as long as you don't mire yourself in stuff and forget the rest. I guess it comes down to quality of notes. I suppose it could be skummish, years ago I read that active lurking unlike passive lurking is a scumtell, though the same manuscript noted that fashions come and go. Anyway, I surmise it is easier for mafia to put a spin on things if one doesn't (or can claim one doesn't) know what exactly has happened. But still the dynamics are more important, says I.
