I don't believe Rand has made a scum slip. He made an identity slip. Two completely different things. I say this knowing at least 3 of you will accuse me of defending Rand. Isn't he like 15 years old? He's going to be screwy by nature.

I won't "accuse you of defending Rand," but I will say this: I know several players in the 14-16 range, including myself, and the phrase "screwy by nature" does not nearly describe us in general. EP? Absolutely. Rand? Sometimes. But not all of us.

 

 

Yeah, EP is in Okinawa serving in the Air Force. Absolute youngest they accept even with a waiver is 17. Pretty funny tho.

First of all, Demandred was discouraging a CC because that would then expose our doc. I agreed with him, and frankly wish you hadn't cc'ed.

 

I also don't like how you clear Graendal and Ishy on the basis that they doubted the claim. I doubted the claim as well, yet you didn't mention me. More importantly, doubting the claim is another way of subtly encouraging the real doc to cc. I have a town read on Graendal, but in Ishy's case this could have easily been what he was trying to do. Not saying I have a scum read on him, just that you shouldn't have "cleared" them on that basis.

Redacting my FOS on Moridin. It's too risky to lynch an un-CCed Doc. Besides, in a previous game (BG's Super Smash Bros.) the Cop was scummy all game and still turned out to be who he said he was. We spent days waiting for a CC, but it never came. I'm willing to believe Moridin.

Wow, that clears a lot up. It leaves me with no reasons not to unvote and vote Moridin. Stinks that they drew the doc out so early, but at least we get a day one scum lynch.

And Demandred is definitely on the radar for tomorrow. I can leave Mr. Haran for day three.

 

This group of quotes makes me highly suspicious of Balthamel. Especially the last one, trying to direct our lynch tomorrow off of SH who is even more suspect now, onto someone I have a faint town read on.

I also don't like this pairing of posts. The first one was before the cc, and could be an attempt at stalling SH's train. The second part- that "Not that I'm all surprised" line bothers me somewhat, because I don't remember Semi doubting Moridin's claim at all. Perhaps she's not surprised because she KNEW he wasn't the doc, but was hoping there would be no cc.

btw, i've been asked abotu the rules concerning lynches and if this is a deadline or majority game. i'll edit the rules to be clearer as it is a bit confusing to read them as is.

 

this game is a deadline game only, you can reach majority or over majority but inless there is 100% of the votes on that one person the lynch will not hit until the Deadline has come.

 

however, if the deadline comes and there isn't a majority reached, the perosn witht he most votes will be lynched and the corner report will not be posted.

Alright. Welp still good with my vote.

 

Way I see it is that we know one of them is the scum so now that we have one pegged between the two of them we can have our cop view one, telling us which is the real doctor at a later point in the game. While they are alive we can continue to get reactions and information from everyone else. This should also help the Doc figure out who to view. If he finds the real doc then he can view the people who were for believing that person over the other person and vice versa.

 

All in all should help catch scum and minimize the risk of losing our Doc on D1.

Many of the members congregated aroudn the refershments table, idley sipping on sodas and stuffing their faces with all sorts of sugary goods. Some had met before, others were meeting for the first time; but none could hide the excitedness they felt at being together, in real life, and all were curious as to what this meeting was about. Barm and Verbal stood with Jason, Jenn and a few of the other admins; apart from the other groups and with their heads together.

 

"A group of us want to know if there will be time to run a Mafia game here, I've got a set up from last Dragon Con saved on my laptop that we can use." Verb said in a non chalant manner, Jason shook his head as he spoke.

 

"Maybe if we have time, but I doubt it. While its nice for us all to get together, this meeting is more than just a social visit."

 

Barm leaned against the wall and folded his arms across his chest in a lazy manner, "Mind telling us what this is abotu then? You and Jenn have been really closed lipped about this entire affiar, even to us other Admins."

 

A small mumor of agreement went through the group and others nodded their heads; Jason exchanged a wary glance with Jenn, ths time it was Jenn who spoke. "Actually, its probably better if Jason tells everyone together." At this the others in the group showed great unease; Verbal and Barm pointedly didn't look at eachother, though both had a good idea of what this meeting was about. Jason and Jenn exchanged another glance and Jason walked over to the podium.

 

"Hi everyone, if you could all take your seats I'd like to begin the meeting now." He waited as people broke up and took their seats at the tables spaced aroudn the room, some still talking in hushed voices and exchanging scraps of paper with various contct info on them.

 

"As most of you might have guessed, I'm Jason, the site owner of Dragonmount. ..." a voice from the back interuprted him with a chiding playful tone "Well spit in the Dark Ones eye, he does exist!" Chuckles and laughs, even from Jason, came at this comment. "Yes i do exist, even though Jenns lovely DM fan fic says otherwise." More chuckles were heard from the sitting admins and moderators.

 

"But more to the point of this visit. First I want to thank each and every one of you for the outstanding job on DM; without your guys help the site wouldln't be running as effeciently or smoothly as it does. Sadly though, this meeting is not intended to be a thankyou for all your hard work. Jenn and I have learned, over the course of a few weeks and from an unnamed source, that among you chosen to come here is a group of individuals who are panning a coup. Basically, they're intending on stealing the hardware and servers for the site and likely assuming mine and Jenn's identitys. Why they're doing this, I don't know; what i do know is that neither Jenn nor I can let this happen. over the past two weeks I've been searching the user accounts of all DM members, and the analysis of data from the accounts and servers narrowed it down to the group before me. So I've called all of you here to go through an indepth analysis of your accounts on DM among other things. Please also note that the police are here as well, once we find those conspirators they will be taken into custody."

 

A nervous mumor ran through the group, Jason held up his hand for silence and continued speaking. "You may be wandering why the police are involved, I believe this group of individuals have shown that they are willing to do anythign to accomplish their goals. I mentioned before that an un-named source informed us of this entire affiar; that Source was Red2111." At the mention of this handle, many people looked around puzzled. "Sadly, Red is not with us today; a few eeks ago she was found dead, beaten almost beyond recognition and with a gun shot wound to the head, in an alley in New York City. The police think it was a Robbery gone wrong, but I convinced them otherwise. Not even an hour befor eher time of death, I received a text message from Red containing info stating she was meeting with these individuals; the police agreed that this was too much of a coinsednece and have been helping us look into this matter ever since."

 

With this, Nae stood up; fained outrage masking the panic she was feeling. "This is a major breach of privacy; I'm not going to subject myself to an invasion of my 4th Amendment Rights because your paranoid. Murding someone over a flamming internet site, you're out of your mind Jason!"

 

As she approached the door, two police officers blocker her way, Jason shook his head. "I'm sorry Nae, but you can't leave until i check out your account and history on DM. If you want, we can do so right now and then your free to leave." This time the outrage was real. "You can't do that!! This is America, you can't hold me here against my will! Get out of my way before i take your ass to civil court."

 

Jason pulled out his laptop and fired it up; a screen dropped down showing and on the screen the email many of them recogined showed up on the screen. He highlighted a potion and enlarged it. "If you read here, accepting the plane ticket implies consent to both following the rules nad guidlines of this convention; included in these are that your not allowed to leave until your account has been cleared by me. Now if you will, thsi wont take but a few minutes Nae."

 

Nae cast sideways glances around the room, appealing to others for help; no one offered to help her. Reluctantly she went up to the stage and Jason addressed the crowd. "The meeting is over for today, Mrs. Becky will hand out your room keys and meal vouchers for the evening. Please be sure to return here promplty at 9am tomorrow morning. Anyone who doesn't show will be assumed guilty and have a warrent issued for their arrest; you're also not allowed to leave the Hotel."

 

It only took a few minutes worht a searching with the information Nae gave him to find out that she had been in New york at the time Red was killed and looking at her account on DM, Jason also found some stuff that further incriminated her. He nodded to the policemen who promptly put her in handcuffs.

 

"Whoa re you working with, I know atleast one of your group is an Admin. Tell me who the others are and we can work soemthing out."

 

Nae snarled at him, her front lip curling up in disdain. "You don't have shit on me Jason; and even if i am part of that group, after what hapened to Red do you really think I'd tell you anything?"

 

Jenn shook her head sadly, "You're only hurting yourself Nae."

 

With that, Nae told her to them they coudl both go Q-Bert themselves and the cops escorted her out of the room and into an awaiting police cruiser with her head held high.

Heh. I didn't check out the setup so I wouldn't know. And I once played a game on JN where we lynched mafia on all 3 lynches (game ended after D3 with 2 dead town and 3 dead mafia iirc)
