I don't have much to go on this day. Arez made an honest slip, and given the nature of it I'm going to take the votes that went on him as town for the time being. At least until I get more data. I took a look at the votes on Kay. I figure that once the train built up, Mafia took advantage of it and went for the speed lynch. One of the later votes is likely Mafia. The last three votes were Maw, Nightstrike, and AH. NS is brand new, so he might not be as aware of the finer points. I'm going to focus on Maw and AH. Scum would want to build the train, but hammering would be too obvious and not well buried, so I find AH the less likely of the two. So I will go with vote Maw.

Here's the final vote count from yesterday. As Basel pointed out, Maw, Nightstrike, and AH are the final three votes on the Kaylee train, which is where scum would be likely to attach themselves. However, here is where I differ from him.

When I looked back, I found a very spammy Maw kitteh that I felt only contributed a Kaylee vote and not much else game related on Day 1. Playing it safe perhaps?

Nightstrike didn't even offer an explanation for his vote other than deadline was coming, but he is new, so I don't know if I'm reading too much into it.

 

Ok, so Kaylee thought things were being serious, unvoted, Firebird voted her for that, Kaylee defends herself and her statement t that it was serious, Arez votes on her, Alanna sees nothing wrong with Kaylee, Tress votes Kaylee because she made a point of unvoting. Kaylee pulls "I'm glad it's getting serious, but I'm town. Lynch me if you must." I believe she only had three votes at that point. BG voted her after that. Lenlo does not side with the Kaylee lynch. Mawth votes Kaylee for the "if you must" comment (where have you been Mawfield?!?!!?). Nightstrike votes with no reasoning.

 

Ok, at this point I feel like we could glean information from this lynch, looking at those who rushed to get on it and those who refused to do so.

 

Plus the timing of the "lynch me if you must." You do that when you have more than just 3 votes...

 

I think this might be a hammer.... Interesting game....

I thought there was a newbie card, this is literally my first time playing. I have no idea how to do this on the internet, and my previous knowledge from outside might even go against me. I am used to reading people's facial expressions to tell whether or not they are mafia. Yes EP, you did blow down most of my contentions, but I still believed in the first ones until now. People are saying that the last votes are the ones to go on, not the first. In real life, it's the other way around, so I was making a false assumption. IF it's one of the last votes, then you have the last three to think about. Again, this might just be because they didn't check in that often. Nightstrike is new like me, so I will also give him some slack because he didn't know what was going on like me. That leaves Maw and AH (sorry, no WO credit this time). Maw said

I'm saying that from my experience in playing mafia in real life, someone who is mafia votes all around with no actual pattern and accuses several people to cover his path.

RL Mafia and online Mafia are two very different animals, similar in mechanics only. I had the same kind of experience when I started playing.

Maw didn't just vote on her, but was suspicious of the train, but that seems like a good mafia strategy. AH said:

We have this same thing happen every game. A train builds, someone blows a whistle on it, it gets analyzed and eventually breaks down, one person on the train's vote seems fishier than the rest, that guy gets pressured and we usually lynch a townie. Can't we just for once go with our gut instinct on Day 1?

This sounds more to me like someone who was trying to make sense of things and accidentally said sorry when hammering. Also sounds like something I would do, because I like to vote fast on who I think is mafia, but when it lynches someone, I have always said sorry unless if I know they are mafia by being a detective. Therefore, unvote Vote Maw

I'm so confused. I don't know who to vote for. I'm thinking Rand kind of "started the train" on Kaylee, since he was number 4. (My interpretation is that "a train" might start at 4 people, but that's just me.) It's true that AH put the nail in the coffin, and that she excused herself for doing so. That might be a little odd. On the other hand, are we sure those who didn't vote at all are sure to be town? Maybe they waited to clear their own names, and then see reasons to eliminate town people selectively with "good reason for it"? If that's the reasoning, then Basel Gill is a good candidate. I think that might have been a strategy I might have used myself ... Does anyone have anything to comment?

It was a reach but as it was the only thing I had to go on so I voted her for it, I expected a simple enough explanation for it. I went to bed and she had like 2 maybe 3 votes I woke up and she was lynched.
