Now, you seem to be the only one with a problem with the Mod choosing to kill EP for a violation of the game that occurred after all of this. As a town player, I'm taking the small victory for what it is.

Its not about polite or nice. This game is not nice. I am white yet if he were to use the N word instead, would that have been alright? It was wrong for him to use that word. Apparently, the Mod felt the same way hence the PR. The Mod's decision to kill EP has to do with something that occurred after the PR decision was made. Again, if you are too upset at the Mod's decision, take it up with him.

To clarify all of this, Mynd, your argument was mathematically flawed earlier in the game and you got a substantial train built because of it. That you were right is impressive =) and also practically outs you because you started the train on EP. With this in mynd, Unvote, Vote Ishy.

 

Christines play has been odd for this and based on the info she has given us it seems that she has some external reasons for doing so.

 

EP, well he was overplayed as a character and I am sorry to see the game end like that for him.

 

Ishy on the other hand, has popped in just long enough to flare up this conflict a bit and then sat back. He has also supported the losing side of it. This pay off is threefold: first if we had lynched mynd and mynd flipped town then we would assume ishy was as well by proxy and following his good judgement he could lynch another two or so without too much question; second, it provides good evidence for people later if someone needs to grasp at straws to formulate a vote; thirdly, if you know who is scum and who isn't then you need a cover for any erratic behavior you may show during a game. This was his simplest method of covering for a while. Of course, I could be wrong here but I don't think so this time.

 

Is player actually behaving strangely or is that just him? This is a sincere question as I do not think I have played with him before.

Lol no worries I am changing it anyways. I had not read the last page when I did that because I didn't realize that it was there but Nolder actually has pinged me more with his reactions here. He is fighting an extremely flawed fight atm.

And to answer the unasked question of how it is equivalent NOLDER AND EP, allow me to explain. Regardless of a person's physical or mental attributes the terminology cast at that individual can be offensive. Arguing that if it does not affect a person then it is okay is like saying that using the N-word or other racial, sexual, etc explicit terms is okay so long as it cannot be applied truthfully to that person. This is simply not true. Would you call one of your friends the N-word in the grocery store? This may be the internet but it is no excuse to drop common civility or decency. That applies to this entire thread, regardless of if it is a game or not. For example, I have a lovely 18 year old cousin who just so happens to have Kanner's Syndrom (a form of autism) and believe it or not, regardless of if I personally am challenged or not I happen to have pretty severe issues with individuals who think that it is okay to mock that or cast it on others. It does an awful lot to her family, whose life essentially revolves around making as certain as they can that she is okay. That is why terminology such as that is not OKAY. I apologize if I have been rude in explaining this, I hope that it helps bring clarity to the issue.

 

Also, the rest of this group that is arguing (MYND included), this needs to stop as it is getting in the way of the game and helping scum only. I see Mynd as an easy scum lynch because of the reactions that were given and that gives more credence to my Nol vote, along with his reactions. Though my above paragraph is very emotionally driven I assure you that my vote is made more sensibly. People still pushing this lynch/argument are behaving scummily (especially those that didn't clearly give a defined reason) and that is how I decided on this vote.

Ask around. You will find that using "retarded" in a derogatory manner is offensive to most, especially among those familiar with special needs children.

 

Again, all I asked was for EP to never use that word again. EP did not say he thought I had down syndrome. He used the term in a derogatory manner. I'm not crying in my cornflakes over it, but it was in poor taste. If you disagree with the Mod's reaction to it, then take it up with him. I had nothing to do with that, though I agree with it.

 

Let's also remember that he was not modkilled for it. He simply had a PR placed on him for it. The modkill came after that.

 

I also think there are a lot of people making some very wild accusations about how everything went down. Read back if you must, but I had no harsh words for Levity at all and I ask that those who are perhaps still in some form of PM communication with her about this use logic rather than emotion when forming your opinion. My Cartman picture was my only nod to the fact that those who cannot control their emotions should not play these games.

 

I never called Christine stupid or implied as such. My assertion in this game is that she still harbors ill feelings towards me in light of my reaction from a previous game where her inactivity without warning cost us the game. We needed her vote to clinch a town victory. She disappeared (despite being active on other boards). It cost us the game. I ranted about it in the appropriate DM Mafia thread and that was that. Her otherwise illogical vote on me reeked of an opportunity to lynch me and get even for my words. Her reaction to such suggested to me that I hit pretty close to the mark.

 

Now then, I believe Nolder is hiding behind what transpired with EP to press the vote on me. He's mafia with EP and he's trying to get revenge for the loss of his teammate, and nothing more. When the issue should have been dropped, he continued to press it.

The terminology is medical. If EP had said to Mynd "Do you have Kanner's Syndrom?" Would that have somehow been more acceptable to you? I doubt it. You guys are just making a mountain out of a molehill. The big issue here to me is that you're choosing to take offense rather than just pass it off as common vernacular. You're demonizing EP and that's not right. To me that's so much worse than any implication of retardation.

To put this issue to rest. EP was not modkilled because he said mynd was being retarted. EP was modkilled because, even after I was going to reduce the PR, be went out of the PM and decided to make the conversation we were having in PM public. At this point I still wasn't going to modkill him, just reinstate the original PR. He then proceeded to call my decissions stupid several times, and refused to work with me.

 

It was then only with the combination of what he sai, breaking rule number 8, and insulting my decisions that I Modkilled him.

 

Further more. If anyone has a problem with my decission, please bring it to me in PM, I'll be glad to discuss it with you there. It is no longer a game issue.
