I don't know how many votes Arez has right now and that always makes me wary of voting someone, but from now on I'm always going to be looking at the users that doggedly push townie lynches the most, since they seem to likely be scum here a lot of the time. There's a difference between naturally aggressive play and... aggressiveness just to be aggressive, I suppose.

On other notes, once you get the "rep" for being a scum, it gets hard to do anything without it being "logically" reasoned as a Scummy action..

It's quite similar to real life, actually. Once you get a nickname you hate, you will never get rid of it.. Or if you get the title of butlicker, then you'll probably have to stick with it =P

 

So to summarize it all, I will try my best to "show my true nature", but saying anything at all can me missinterpreted (Like daes dae'mar)!

But that's the fun with Mafia xD!

part of the reason it's hard to shake a scum tag in games is because the game is based on first impressions. if you make enough scumtastic moves, like Arez has in this game, then at some point peopel will just take your words as twisting and WIFOM and just ignore you. it's irritating, i know i've been there many times. best thing you can do as town is to just put out your thoughts in concise posts for the townies to use once they get your corner report. either way (scum or town) getting lynched for various reasons always offers a good chance to learn and tweak your style to preent it in the future.

 

 

that said, where is everyone!! i knwo i'm not the most active person due to RL, but comeone guys! i woudl think my recap would atleast get more discussion going and provide us with a suitable option for a competing train

when you use the word "We" in a sentance like that, it comes of as VERY misleading Basel ^^

 

I guess that Red Interprets it like you're a part of the Heroes, and you guys like to sit and watch your meal tire itself out before going in for the kill =)

 

To me it almost seems that you're saying "We just like to let you kill each other before we make any effort to do so ourselves" If you get what I'm saying ^^

 

*nods* Well, I suppose what I said could be read that way. The "we" had been meant to refer to the entire population of the game, but I hadn't even thought Red was referring to my use of first-person. I don't expect people to believe me, based on past experience, but I don't find it anything worth getting bent out of shape over.

 

it's taking the usage in the context of the convo. Razen and Tynaal we're joking about how the scum might be reacting to the Razen lynch. in that context, the usage of the word We instead of They indicates a subconsious slip by scum.

 

and yes, this type of slip up has caught a hand full of scum in my 2 years playign this game, and just as many town. it's not much, but enough to apply pressure over and is about the best scum slip i've seen so far this game.

Razen's words have alot of wieght in them. at this point these were the peopel on his wagon. Aemon, Panda, Arez & Basel. we know Aemon is town, my guess is that 1, maybe 2, of the remaining people are scum; but not all 3. atm, the only one i have a heavy scum vibe from is Basel.

 

 

So i have a slight issue that hopefully you can fix. Its not with the words them self because its possible. But what i see is you linking players based on the alignment of aemon and i do believe you just said linking players was scummy?

 

 

first, i'm not the only one claiming that Arez looks to be coached, so why focus in on me Amega?? infact, if you have issue with this, why attack the only perosn who argued agaisnt lynching him based on this, why not go after Ishy or Basel for leading the lynch with this aspect.

 

 

i'm not linking people, i'm looking at the lynch logically going off the averages of a townie lynch on where scum are usually at. Razen stated he felt scum were on his lynch at this poitn and i happen to agree, i was merely statign the obvious about Aemon since he was NKd. i'm not linking players, but narrowing the pool of suspects of possible scum to make looking for them easier.

Lev, are you on a smartphone or something that is doing just plain quote tags with no attributions? It's kind of confusing reading the bits you quote and then having to dig back to see what post they are from, or even who you are quoting.

Sorry, I didn't name the quotes properly--I thought I did last night, but I guess that didn't happen. I usually remember who I'm quoting though so if that happens again I'll remember to mention who in particular I was quoting (in this case, Lenlo and Arez respectively)/

Right about here is where your logic derails for me, Red. You've admitted that Arez is pinging you. You've placed yourself among those who think he is being coached. And yet, you claim to be getting very strong pings from people voting for Arez because he is being coached (not just myself but also Ishy), which is a major part of why he is pinging you. So... you are saying Arez is showing a strong sign of being scum, yet you haven't been willing to vote him until now, while simultaneously saying that anyone else who suspects him of being scum for the exact same reasons as you and does vote for him must therefore be scum.

 

I'm also afraid I don't agree with the idea of not lynching someone because they seem coached. If they are being coached, it's by other, more experienced Mafia than they are. A townie would be playing solo, without getting any coaching. If someone is being coached, then they are scum.
