11? I think?

The first three are:

A Princess of Mars

The Gods of Mars

The Warlord of Mars

Any more from there kind of go into other directions, but at least read the first three. They are kind of the basis for all future Sci Fi. Keep in mind that they were written in the early 1900s. I had a hard time getting through them at times, but I pushed on. Just read it in short sections. They were originally published as Serials, so they were meant to be read as such.

As for The Hunger Games, someone suggested them to me right after the first one came out. I had heard it would be a trilogy, and I am currently waiting for enough series to finish, so I put it aside until the trilogy was finished. It sounded like a teen book to me, and someone compared it to Battle Royale, so I said whatever.

Well, I was in the bookstore when they were unpacking the third book (Mockingbird), and remembered that I had the first book sitting on my shelf. I said, ok, whatever, I'll read them.

Went home, flipped through THG, read the first chapter. Didn't have work the next day. And I read. And I read. And I read. I finished the entire series in a day and a half, because all I did was read.

AMAZING. JUST AMAZING. Her writing style isn't that sophisticated to be honest, but the characters, and the story line, and OH GOD I LOVED IT.

And then someone mentioned a movie... I went ape shit crazy. YEAH APE! CRAZY LIKE YOU!

So, yeah. Christine's Book into Movie time over!

Agreed about The Hunger Games books. I read them all back to back and couldn't put them down. What I loved so much was that they were such an easy read, but so entertaining. Just enough detail to be made into the perfect movie, that's what I thought when I read them. Then I found out that there was a movie and boom. I am so stoked to see it. Unfortunately it'll either be a hadji copy or when I get home next month.

reason for edit- so many errors >.> due to lack of sleep and redbull...

I think it was 24 hours. So, soon?

Yeah, it would be an Advance game. 24 players. Everyone has different win conditions. So, sort of Mafia, sort of not. Lots of hidden doors and traps. But, for whatever reason, I can get no real activity in my Mafia games. Makes me sad.

:(

DPR, if I planned out a Hunger Games Mafia, would you doublecheck it for me and put your stamp on it?

A brave little Steampunk trundles along, very particular about her corset and brass buttons. She is troubled, though, as the weight of her station bears down upon her, a burden that grows heavier by the night.

She never sees her murderer, her last thought more of an awareness that the light is fading...

ITHI, TOWN LIE DETECTOR, IS DEAD.

Some time later, electrical current sizzles through the body of The Dark Monocles latest automaton. The figure rises, an exact replica of the body that it mimics.

Across town, the ravings of a person in pain echo through the alleys. The figure is hooded, making it impossible to tell whom they may be, but as the pot merges from under their robe, you know what they are...a quick toss and flammable oil covers another player. But not exactly...

"What are you about - why, you're crazed!"

The voice comes from behind the douser. The douser spins, realizing that they have just covered a mirror with oil - it had been a reflection that they had stalked. The figure dashes off, too quick to be caught.

The hours before dawn are tumultuous, but they are yet to conclude. There is one more murder yet to be committed...

A man sharpens a small knife upon a stone, biding his time until he can join The Dark Monocle. He has made all of the right motions to attract the Monocle's attention, and his latest achievement in joining one of the city's guilds should only make his offer all the more sweet. He is pleased with his progress, as he reflects on it - then he notices another reflection...that of a figure behind him, silhouetted across his small blade. He spins to counter the attack, but he never really stood a chance.

PIANOPLAYER, SYMP, HAS BEEN KILLED.

The first rays of sun break over the horizon then, introducing another day to the city of New Coronado.

Day 5 has begun.

Alright. Had the possibility that Player was a symp in mind from his hint that Despo found. At the time, I thought it was way too obvious but then once Despo flipped town, I decided to reconsider. That being said, I wanted to leave player alive because symps aren't as dangerous as mafia and inexperienced symps can lead us to mafia. Hopefully there is enough evidence in Player's posts and stances to find some mafia.

Not to put a damper on things, but are we sure he knew who the mafia are? I've played games where the symps didn't know who the scum were, and they had to figure it out, too.

Honestly, I don't know. I knew I was symping for bounty hunters, but had no idea how to go about it. By the time I did, I was alive because I switched teams, in effect. Remember, Lily, you were in the Star Wars JN game. I was what's his name, the Twi'lek with the head tails?

From what I understand, they try to figure out who the mafia team is, and protect them--yes, blindly, although I'm sure there are ways to signal to one another that you're aware of each other.

And another big part of blind symping would be distracting from the scumhunting. Muddy the water, wreak havoc, whatever, just make the town's job harder. XD

YAY, ok thanks DPR.

Also, really, NO ONE OUT THERE WAS A HEALER?! You didn't think, Oh Hey, we have an LD, I should protect her!

I like your enthusiasm. And of course there is a healer, silly...

Hell, there's a Cop, a Tracker, a Watcher - there's all kinds of stuff out there. *walskawaywhistling*
