Nice teamwork girls with the vote-switching.

A little too obvious, however, if you check the timing.

Nasty, too. Playing around with votes so that they don't count and pretending to be unable to formulate tags correctly is NOT nice in my book.

I suppose you would hope that if somehow Ishy managed to step into that 5-minute window, that vote on Kate wouldn't count afterall.

Without that, I would call that play brilliant, if mad, with the proper risk taken, with that, however, I don't like it at all.

I'm disappointed in you, Kate and Sakaea.

For those who don't know what it's about, here's the scenario.

This game has two maffia teams. Each started with three members.

One team is Ishy, JLM and me.

THe other team is Red, Kate and Sakaea.

First of all csarmi, rule #14. I don't usually post using DM mobile and was having all kinds of issues. I don't use it as an excuse, I just kept trying til I got it. Second of all, 2 mafia teams? WTF? There would be almost no way for town to win with 6 out of 14 players being scum. So I think you're a LLL, not only because of that, but because how in the blue hell would you know who the other scum team is? 2 teams infers that they don't know about each other. So thanks for telling us who our remaining scum our. Brave play, but not the best you could have come up with.

Yup, that also means I'm no tracker, but I did tell the truth about Kate, since I knew she was maffia. Of course I couldn't be sure it's her who sent in the Night Kill.

We were at 3-2-2 and lynching anyone but us would have secured out victory. Now it's all open again, with the worst kind of WiFoM's out there.

I put a lot of thinking into it and I see no real way for anyone to win anymore, at least not something that is totally luck dependent.

Quibby said that if two maffia teams were left standing with same number of members remaining, he would win.

That would fit this game very well.

I suggest the following course of action.

Ishy&Me kill leelou. Sakaea&Kate kills Christine.

Is they protect one, we lynch the other next day and it all ends in a bloodshed.

What d'you all think?

The mod would win? WTF? Also, yet another flaw in this scheme of yours is that there's only been one night with 2 deaths. That speaks more to a one shot vig than anything.

Also, you claimed tracker cus you wanted to get Kate lynched. That didn't work, so you came up with this...utter crap to get town to lynch one of their own, thereby opening the way for you to win.

Kate, I have to tell you that I really liked you play. I tried to case you tonight, but I got nothing. Not only did she look like town, but most of the time you said something that I would have, myself.

Sakaea, you did a good job staying under the radar. I never suspected you.

Can I ask why you didn't try to Night Kill leelou last night? We weren't sure if she was healer, but YOU could be, couldn't you?

So you say we're scum, then say you never suspected either of us, basically? This whole thing reeks of trying to get us lynched instead of you and Ishy.

Whoa. I actually sleep for once and this is what I wake up to.

There's so much, I'm not sure where to begin...

First, well played Csarmi. You try to lynch Town (i.e. Me) and when that doesn't take, you try to say that Sakaea and I are in another mafia team? That's convenient that it pretty much gives Town NO way to win. This is a Basic game.

Secondly, we have to wait and see what happens tonight, but with Csarmi and Ishy confirmed mafia, the Town has this in the bag. We have the advantage of numbers that their NK's can't take.

This is very much a winnable game for Town.

Posted

Plus, I still don't see why you would have wasted a nk on me knowing I would protect myself if it was 2 mafia teams and you are competing. Wouldn't you take each other out? What, you can't nk the other mafia?

Sorry, this just reeks.

Yes now that I thought it over better, I realize we have made a mistake here.

1) I trusted Kate+Sak to be cool with this plan which is fun.

2) I should have sent a NK on Christine instead. That way everything could be confirmed no matter what Kate+Sak did. Now they can NK Christine and keep pretending they are town. Well they can't really do that, because we know there must be a reason for the two NightKills, but they can try.

WHatever.

Mafia Game Categories

There will be 2 types of games running on this board - Basic Mafia & Advanced Mafia.

A Basic game will contain standard mafia roles (i.e. Finder/Cop, Healer/Doc, Masons, Vig, SK). There are no recruiting roles or complex roles used, and the mafia/town ratio will be consistent with guides found on the mafiascum site linked above (usually ~25% mafia/scum).

Nowhere does it say there can't be multiple maffia teams.

It doesn't, you're right...but your claim suggests that 43% of the players were mafia. That is a considerable difference from ~25%.

All I know is that if I am still alive tomorrow, I will be voting you, Csarmi, for trying TWICE to throw out stories to get me lynched. First, you tried to claim tracker and when that didn't hold, you come out and admit that you lied, but you somehow know I am mafia because there are two mafia teams? That's not WIFOM as much as it is just plain confusing.

You keep throwing out that you would never lie in the situation... you already have and admitted it, why is right now suddenly different?

I win with the Town.

And, at this point, I am pretty positive that the town will win Day 6, if we lynch you and Ishy the next two day phases.

Stop lying Kate.

Your argument about 43% is stupid and pointless and you know it.

With having several maffia teams there can be more maffia than town total and the game sti9ll be balanced because the maffia teams balance each other.

Stupid and pointless? All I did was point out that YOU were claiming there were 6 mafia members in a 14-player game.

The game is over already with 100% information revealed.

The game is over? I haven't heard Quibby announce that, I'll read back... must have missed it.

Did you have some super omnicient power role that you got to know everyone's roles and alignments? For all I know, Leelou, Christine, or Sakaea could also be on your team. However, I DO know that you are mafia and I DO know that Ishy is mafia. That is the only information I have to work with. Sounds like you're just getting annoyed because your first attempt at lynching me didn't take and you ended up outing yourself for it.

You never read what csarmi wrote, did you? The point is to NOT get you lynched, to let you live to the endgame. We actually went out of the way to ensure your survival, the easy and obvious would have been to NK you.

It was a dark and stormy night, a night filled with tension. None dared to unlock their doors, for fear that they would be the next to fall to a strange and gruesome fate. The night passed slowly, like an overlarge kidney stone. Nearly as painful, too. Tending to the remains of JLM had been an easy affair: after her execution by hanging, carried out by Christine, her remains had been left on the gallows, as befit a convicted and proven murderer. The idea of the body swaying in the heavy storm winds, though, kept several villagers awake.

When morning finally came, the few remaining villagers were roused by a man's agonized screams. With a growing, sickening dread, they ran into the square. The first thing they saw was Leelou's body, splayed in the courtyard as if being prepared for some sort of dreadful mutilation. Aside from the fact that her head was facing the wrong way, she would have looked almost normal. There were signs of a struggle around her body, as if somebody caught the assailant in the act and extracted some sort of bloody vengeance, and the telltale signs of somebody being dragged away. The trail leads towards the screams.

Just inside the treeline of the forest surrounding the village- "Ummm... Lord Mod? I don't recall there being a forest yesterday." "Shut up, Alphonse. I'm playing." "Shouldn't you be, you know, doing deity-type stuff?"- the survivors found Csarmi.

He was still alive.

But he would not remain so for long.

It was obvious that Csarmi was no longer sane. Sanity under his conditions was impossible. He was stretched taut by ropes tied through holes cut in his wrists and ankles between a pair of trees. A rig of branches had been set up in front of him, and it was quite clear that there had been predators and birds there before the villagers arrived. Half of Csarmi's body had been skinned.

Ishmael eyed the remaining three villagers with quiet satisfaction. Soon, he would have all of them where he wanted them, and they would go to their graves one by one, until the last looked up at him through fading vision.

Then Kate and Sakaea stepped forward.

With a casual gesture, Sakaea reached around Christine's neck and drew what had to be a sharp knife across her throat. With a gurgle of shock, she fell to the ground, clutching feebly at the gaping cut. Ishmael reacted quickly, though. A concealed handgun appeared out of his sleeve, and with a desperate cry, he fired. Sakaea flinched back, but tried to come at Ishmael again. A second shot. A third. A fourth. Soon, the gun was clicking with every trigger squeeze, and Ishmael was breathing heavily as he watched the life bleed out of Sakaea's eyes. Then a pair of slim hands seized him by the jaw.

There was a grinding crunch in Ishmael's neck, and his body suddenly went numb. As his vision began to fade out, Ishmael looked up into the eyes of Kate, who stood above him with a small, cold smile on her lips. That smile was the last thing that Ishmael saw...

"... wow, a whole herd of you today," the Lord Mod muttered, casting his eye over the six spirits hovering before him. The ghosts of JLM, Ishmael, and Csarmi stood to one side, huddled together fearfully. Occasionally, the ghosts of Leelou and Christine would shoot glares of intense hatred at the three. Sakaea stood by himself, an odd look of combined melancholy and triumph on his features.

Christine spoke first: "So You're the bastard who was responsible for all this! What did we ever do to draw this sort of attention?!"

"Yeah!" piped up Leelou. "I just woke up one morning to find that I had the inexplicable ability to cure any and all wounds inflicted upon a person. Then people started dying left and right. How is that just or right?!"

The four scumbags looked back and forth at each other. "It was fun, though," muttered Ishmael. Both JLM and Csarmi cuffed him roughly.

"SILENCE!" the Lord Mod shouted, causing the heavens and the earth to tremble. On the east coast of the United States, millions of people suddenly scrambled about as if the world were ending. Nobody else seemed to care.

One by one, the spirits stammered into silence. "Now, I guess I'm supposed to judge the dead and all that crap," the Lord Mod mused, "but I'm too lazy for that, so we'll just apply the same sentence to everybody."

Leaning forward in His throne, the Lord Mod Almighty declared, "Henceforth, through all eternity, I curse you all to relive this event again and again. Every time you die, you shall be reborn, knowing that you are damned to die again." Sitting back and grinning, the Lord Mod tittered and said, "I love re-"

And then He died.

With a sigh, the Angel that Formerly Stood at the Right Hand of Mod wiped off the heavy club (complete with big nail) and turned his attention to the deceased. "I'm sorry for all this. If you wish to file a complaint, you'll just have to go down the hall and to the right. Mind the queue. Your respective afterlives will be sorted out after there, but I hope that you four-" the angel gestured to Ishmael, JLM, Csarmi, and Sakaea- "enjoy hot weather."

As the spirits left, a bright flash shone upon the Great White Throne, and there sat the Lord Mod Almighty, stern countenance examining the departing figures. "Who were they?"

"Oh, nobody special. By the way, Your son decided He wanted to play Mod again. I sent Him to His room."

"Oh, dear. What was the damage this time?"

"Thirteen dead and one murderer walking free."

"A murderer, eh?" The Lord Mod Almighty stroked His chin thoughtfully. "Well, we can't be having that now, can we?"

Far in orbit, an asteroid that was minding its own business suddenly found itself on a blisteringly fast journey towards Earth. It didn't know why, but it had the sudden urge to fall screaming from the sky, and for some strange reason, the name Kate seemed to pass through what would have been its mind if asteroids, in fact, had minds...

As you can see, this was not a standard mafia set-up. It works really well after the first day, usually, because the two mafia teams only learn that there is another team after the two night-kills. Then, they are given the task of hunting down their opponents, which they need to do in order to win. Fairness-wise, because the mafia has a stake in seeing the other team eliminated, it becomes 11 on 3 in two directions. Two medics are in the game in order to try to counteract the two mafia teams. Because there are two teams of 3 scum each, there is only one finder; his/her job is relatively easy due to the higher than normal numbers.

The only way this set- up doesn't work right is if the mafia is either blocked, or they both kill the same person on night 1.

Guess what happened, folks...
