Woo two in one day! I'd be happy to add you both!

Sephie: What kind of writing, drawing and guitar playing do you do? I have a WIP stories on the go and I have just started learning guitar in the last month or so. I thought I had an accoustic but was just recently told its stringed as a classic..not sure what the difference is. I have a friend with an electric guitar and I got to fool around with it for a little while.

Jaedan: What kind of writing do you do? And which handicrafts? I started out as a crafter and still spend most of my time there so I'm quiet interested in that. I also took a bellydance class once, it was a lot of fun! How long have you been doing it? What belt are you in Aikido (do they have belts?) Its hard to narrow down these interests sometimes isn't it? Its good to have many hobbies though, no shortage of fun in your life!

Thanks for the welcome!

I write epic fantasy, mainly. I actually started writing due in large part to RJ. (WIP? not familiar with the term. what does it stand for?) I'm hoping to finish the main rewriting on first book in my series by Jan. and start looking for an agent by June or July.

I play an electric guitar, bit my guitar's wiring has gone out, so it might as well be accoustic. That's all right, because I play for fun, and I'm pretty terrible anyway.

I've been writing much longer than I've been playing guitar, but I've been drawing for as long before I started writing. I've been writing since 12-13, but drawing since fingerpaints in kindergarten. I draw people, mostly in anime style. I'd like to combine writing and drawing to make manga, but I'm not good with architecture, unfortunately.

I have a friend who used to make her own mangas up, and she had two sisters who did as well. She and one of the others both took graphic design courses after high school to help persue a carreer in it. She realized after graduating and spending a year in at a job in the feild that she much prefered not working there. She loved her artwork because she didnt' have to do it and she could do exactly what she wanted to do. With work it lost something and so she went back to school and got a new carreer, but she still does it on the side.

I can't draw to save my life..I really really couldn't. I love artwork though...I just can't do it.

WIP=Work In Progress. Exciting time to be so close to being done and putting it out there! I hope the editing goes smoothly for you.

Thank you for the addition! I'm looking forward to being a member here.

The writing is a mess at present; I have a few attempts at novels on the go. The one furthest along is a nautical-historical; it's all written and half way through it's first serious edit; I'm changing very little, but putting more details about life at sea in it, trying to give it more realism (I used to be a sailor on square-riggers, so I know what it can get like out there). My favourite project concerns a coven of witches for whom things get a little more serious than they bargained for (NOT a teenage one, I hasten to add - there are already enough good series aimed at that age group out there). I have been trying an epic fantasy for the last 15 years - every year I add chapters, plans and complications, then decide it's just too big for me to cope with (whoever started the 'fear' thread is absolutely spot on!) I also do bits of RP (Star Trek) over the internet, I used to do fanfiction (Hornblower), and some stuff just for my own amusement - more to keep my hand in than because I think anything will come of it.
I also play the guitar (since I was 7) although I'm not very good. Neither am I very good at Aikido, but I've only been doing that for 2 months and I'm only a red-belt!
The bellydancing, however, is another story. I've been dancing for 2 and a half years and was asked to join a troupe last month :) (It was a bit out of the blue, though, so I'm considering it for the next round of recruitment). But Bellydance is awesome - I don't know what I'd do without it; it's such a relief from my lousy job and that I had to give up seamanship. If you're considering going to more lessons, do so; my only regret is that I didn't discover it years ago!
Handicrafts - mostly cross-stitch, at the moment, but a friend is teaching me to crochet and I've signed up for a dress-making and seamstress course which will come up in the next month or two, I hope. I've been making my own jewellery for years - nothing like silversmithing, but I can put together a nice piece with beads, shells, charms &c. I also make rune-sets (or Ogham sets, if asked). I hope to use some skills to make my own bellydance costumes, shawls and belts since they cost a fortune, and save a bit of money that way.

Seriously, I have too much in my life!
Aye, ever yours

Thanks! And good luck on your work, too!

Yeah, if I got to do manga professionally, I'd probably get to hating it, too. I might do something about writing/character design for manga, eventually, but that's about it.

I've been writing my book and worldbuilding for about 7 years. I think I'm on rewrite 5? Each time I get near the end, I look at the beginning and go: ohmygodthat'sterrible. :) But I'm cutting myself off, before I get a full-blown case of World-builder's Disease.

What's your book like?
