Hi all,

To get an idea how many (or little) active members there are around for the Freelanders Division, please sign in here by filling out the following information (for now):

Average estimation of your activity for RP on DM: this is for me to get an idea on what to expect and when to worry about you. Try to be as realistic in this as you can, as it will be used as a guideline to know what can be expected of you in terms of activity, RP's where others depend on your participation, etc.
Previous position(s) or experience in the RP Group: this is in case I need to gather information from the past in order to understand the present and build on for the future.


A note: please do not think that just because you haven't had any prior positions in the RP Group that your opinion or suggestions will be counted as inferior. Everyone, regardless of seniority in whatever position or role they might have once had, will be treated equal, following the precepts of DM and PSW. The voice of the newest member will be heard every bit as much as that of the member that was here at the very beginning of DM. Previous experience and information will be used to gain a better understanding of the present and prepare for a (hopefully) great future. That does not mean that what 'was' will automatically 'be'. Some things may change, others will stay the same and some may disappear altogether. It does not mean that you will always get exactly what you want and sometimes it may mean that you will not get what you want at all. But we will work on this together, seeing what works best for our RP Group and your characters in the overall setup of the PSW.

There is a lot for me to assimilate, so these are just the first steps for me to get to know you, your characters and the details and diversity of this RP Group. It is an information gathering exercise, not a decision and elimination round.

thanks Aubrey :) I didn't know that there was a different rank system here than in other Divs, where the ADL is the second usually from what I understand. Already some usefull info coming out of this.

A few times per day, absence during the summer but hoping to pick up the pace to a couple of times per week again.

 

Previous position(s) or experience in the Division: None, though being the only Freebooter, Mara is technically their unofficial 'leader'.

No probs. I believe Jehaine and Jelana's threads died early, Amyante is stuck somewhere in the Return, and Kizuna hasn't even made her appearance yet.

 

For Mara, i have some plans, but they're on hold until i get my presence here stabilized again.

I seem to remember your intro rp's from Amyante and Kizuna and I figured you had planned on linking them together as Sul'dam and damane. Was that a wrong assumption?

 

your Aiel characters could be ressurected im sure, depending what you intended for them in those threads that died. From their needs it looks like you got stalled waiting on a training for both.

 

What do you mean with 'Tairen Hatring Tairen' for Mara? you mean she hates Tairens eventhough she's a Tairen herself?

Amyante and Kizuna:

 

I wrote intro's yes, but with the added note that they NOT link together... Want to keep Amy looking for a while, and bumping into her friend in the impossibly large Seanchan fleet would be twisting chance a little too much for a non-taveren.

That would be correct, both of their training threads stalled.

 

Mara:

 

Long story, father was a noble that left her mother when he got her pregnant due to her being illegitimate, mother died in poverty a few years after she was born so she hates the guts of pretty much every Tairen noble. Should she ever find her dad, she wants to "shiv 'im in th' bollocks".

Daedric was just approved a few days ago, but I'm hopefully going to get a post up on the 'North' board very soon. He's going to be wounded and Eqwina is going to, by some twist of the pattern, be in the area to offer him healing before he dies. After that.. well.. we'll have to see. -smiles-. Eqwina has also been a great help getting my bio approved and what not, and she said she suggested my character start at WS - 5. Don't know if that's confirmed yet or not.. but.. yeah .. there it is.

 

Though this character is new to DM, i'm not new to RP. I've been doing it for years, so yeah, if your character happens to run into mine... Awesome. :).

 

Average estimation: Hard to say.. At least a few times a week I'd hope. It really will depend on how busy I am at the time and how intense the RP situation is for my character(s).

 

Previous Postions: None. I'm new. Though about 5 years ago I was a Stone Dog here at DM.. I can't seem to remember his name for the life of me. So, just starting from scratch.

What Guild (Aiel, Seanchan, etc) will your character belong to or is he a freebooter (not belonging to any specific group)?

 

 

Just in case you're interersted, here's the trick to make any word a link. Say you want to make the word 'bio' a link to the bio of your character (like here):

 

you select the word 'bio' and then click on the third icon above your smilies here on top of the box. It looks like a worldglobe (you can see a small text explanation when you hover your mouse over it. It will say 'url').

 

you will get this:

 

[url]bio[/url]

 

then you click in the [ url ] and you type an = followed by the link to the the page you want it to link to.

 

like this:

What you get then is this: bio

It was a while ago when there were "Group Leaders" and "Division Leaders". I did a lot of the Freelander Website stuff, compiling with James, Silhouette & Sam. I've nto followed the FL info for the past year, but I pretty much know where most things are in the world and some of the Royal storylines are.

 

I also have 2 Aiel Characters, but I haven't 'renewed' the characters when I returned.

RP Character: Jural Mirado, Freelander, Thief Catcher though there is not a guild for this yet afaik. Character is kinda stuck in Tear, though after I finsih an rp that has stalled a bit, I might have him travel around to meet other people, do other jobs etc.  He's kinda secondary to my primary character in the Warder Yards though so I'm not exactly sure what to do with him at this point. Previous position(s) or experience in the Division: No positions within Freelanders or elsewhere on DM. I have had positions on other WoT rp sites if that counts (shrug).  Not too skilled at technical stuff but I'm not bad at rp planning and brainstorming for ideas.  Let me know if I can help.

Hi Visar, thank you for the info. I will definately keep your offer to help out in mind. The Light knows there's enough to do around here that there will be no shortage of things for all kinds of skills and talents.

 

I would think that both in the main timeline and outside it there might be some really cool things to do for a Thief Catcher, so maybe we can come up with something for your Jural. Him being secondary to your Warder is no problem, I'm guessing we're going to be here for quite some time still :)

Board Activity: I browse the topics when I can, which is a little less than once a day.  I post on the RP boards only once every few days because of the writing I already do in college.

Rod, if you click on 'modify' in your post with the link and look closely to what you have typed and what is in the explanation above, you will notice that your link is missing it's closing tab. Every code in html has an opening and a closing tab (with some exceptions, but even these work fine with closing tabs).

 

what you typed was:

it misses the closing tab [ /url ] at the end. That is why everything that follows after the opening tab is linked, because as far as html is concerned you intended it this way by not putting the closing tab somewhere.

 

I hope this makes sense :)

 

You can change it manually by modifying your post if you like. That way the edit line will have your own name in it instead of mine.

 

And don't worry, it is one of the most common mistakes made, even by experienced users of these codes. A stray blank space somewhere where it shouldn't, a typo that keeps being overlooked no matter how many times you check, etc. They happen to the best of them. Which is kind of cool, as they sometimes make for really good bloopers *grins*
