Halloween costumes?

So for the first time in several years, I'm teaching at a school that not only acknowledges that Halloween is taking place, but is actively encouraging us to celebrate it.  If this doesn't sound remarkable to you, then you haven't been in one of wonderfully sanitized public schools lately.

Because of this, I'm contemplating my Halloween costume for the first time in many years. I have costumes a plenty, and will just drag out one of my dresses I wear at Dragon*Con for the occasion. I'm looking forward to seeing my students in costume too. They are quite excited about it, and also the possibility that I might wear a hoop skirt to class. (Still debating that one. I'd have a hard time walking through my room.)

Is anyone else dressing up this year?  What will you be wearing?

Our high school's student council community service group is going out in the community and trick or treating for the hungry.  We're collecting food for our local food pantry.  We're probably wearing some kind of the same thing, but as long as it's for a good cause, I don't care if I don't dress up.

*laugh* You made it sound like you were actually going to put some effort into it there for a second, Barm, until you clarified it with the cop-out!

I dressed up for work as a ninja last year, with everything but the weapons... I didn't want to get pulled over while riding my Ninja because someone thought I was actually trying to be one. I couldn't hide my wooden practice Katana (just for kicks, I've never taken martial arts or anything) in my backpack.

I probably won't bother with a costume this year, but I may feel like it again next time.

I love Halloween, but I don't usually dress us anymore.  Kind of hard to find costumes for heavier ladies...  :P  And don't even say to make them... I'm not crafty... lol.

William's preschool class (in a public school... never heard of them not celebrating it a little in a public school... must be a newer thing) is having a Halloween party... still need to get him a costume, but he's been sick and we've been mucho busy...  so this weekend I guess.  :)

Still haven't decided if I'm going to the halloween party I'm invited to tomorrow. (There's a most excellent electro-club colliding, and it's been way too long since I was out clubbing proper). But if I do go, I will take the easy way out and go as The Crow. Done it several times before, so I've got everything necessary at home. And for the first time in years, I even have the hair for it  ;D

I still need a purple cane, I need to sow on yellow fabric over the inside of the coller on the jacket and sow on yellow fabric at the wrists. Also still need the blue coller thingy and 3 purple beads for the neck pin.

my girlfriend keeps saying shes going to introduce me as dressing as a "dead pimp" instead of "Brook from One Piece" XD

I took out my teeth and went as a vampire; moving house and doing a gazillion other things doesn't give one time to think about this.  And yeah - I raided my stash of 'D*Con dresses' for that, even if this is one I acquired this year for an unrelated event.

In the fourth grade, I covered myself in Elmer's glue so it looked like my skin was falling off. I told my mom I was going out as a leper.  She wouldn't let me leave the house like that, so I had to be a ballerina instead.

Well, at a halloween party last weekend, I dressed up like a pirate. And I was a schmexy little pirate, if I do say so myself. :) I'm not sure if I'm doing anything on Halloween or not, but I'll probably dress up again anyway, if just to hand out candy.
