Ok, so a group of buddies and I are forming a clan.  A trollish clan.  And we need a symbol.  Since half of us want something that Looks Cool and half of us want to make sure it doesn't mean something awful like "I poop flowers" or "fairy lover" or something very un-troll like such as that, we need help finding middle ground.  None of us are scholars.

Any ideas on symbols to use that have trollish ties?

There has been some arguement over use of the Troll Cross.  I hate it because it's supposed to ward Off trolls.  Some of the others are poopooing that.  I'm sorry, I'm anal.  I don't want my clan banner to be laughed at by someone who knows what they're looking at.

The first option was this:

http://www.runes.info/pieces/runepiece12.htm

but until now we didn't know what it was more than just a rune.  Except for the discussion of it meaning Frost Giant, I'd say it was close to perfect.  Anyone know of this rune being associated with Trolls?

I found some information about Thurisaz. I've translated from Swedish as best I could.  :)

Thurisaz

Basic meaning: Thurs, giant, troll

Magical meaning: A very powerful rune, symbolizing power, chaos and transformation, maybe even the protection of the gods.

Another page I found simply says that the rune means troll.

According to one Göran Stålbom who's written Runristningar ("Rune inscriptions") thurisaz means giant or troll. However, according to the author this shouldn't be taken for the absolute truth.

I hope that helps a little!  :)

You should be glad she spelled everything correctly.  After all, she's from Texas.

Dude, I actually Did perplex a little while about the spelling.  I need to get my butt back into some books that aren't fiction and Learn something before I start getting Stupid!  Hahaha!

Thank you!  I did look at the link that Danya posted earlier as well as some magick related sites and it says basically the same thing you have said here.  So I'm going to rejoice in it actually meaning troll as well as giant.  I think this rune should be our symbol.  And I'm going to take care with it when constructing the banner so as not to offend any Asatru or bring on any unwanted chaos from playing with it.
