Replacing the WT DL

I regret to announce that the present WT DL has been let go.  His conduct has been determined by the Incarns and Group Leaders to be detrimental to both the WT and to the DR PSW as a whole.  There has a been a serious deteriation in relations between the Administration, the Group Leaders, and Russ.  Despite our best efforts to try and rectify the issues and the miscommunications, things have spiraled downhill.

 

Despite numerous warnings, things continue to deteriorate and the feeling now is that there is no chance of any improvement in the working relationship.  Below are some examples to better explain the breakdown of the working relationship.

 

    - Monthly reports:  These are a requirment for all DR PSW staff.  Russ consistantly failed to turn any in unless threatened with loosing his position.  The other staff memembers often complained about his lack of participation.

 

    - Following appropriate channels for RP approval:  It is imparitive that staff members sign off on multi-divisional RP's for logistic reasons.  Russ would often try to bully RP ideas through, regardless of fellow staff member misgivings regarding some RP's, and didn't seem willing to discuss and try to reach a compromise when another staff objected.  He would also frequently skip past getting his GL's approval and get right to the planning with other's stage.  This would cause complications within the staff, because people would get excited about a RP, only to have it shut down by other staff members due to incompatiblity within story-lines.

 

    -  Responding in a timely manner to fellow staff and division members:  as a staff member, it is imparitive to maintain an open line of communication with fellow staff and with the members of your division.  It is required to respond to an inquiry or communication in a timely manner.  Months would often go by before Russ would reply to Staff, much less the less well known members of the WT and complaints about his lack of response were frequent.

 

    -  Copying and pasting staff information for the White Tower Staff board:  It is prohibited to copy and paste discussions from the staff board onto any other board within DM.  If the staff board was meant to be seen by everyone, then it wouldn't be locked to Staff Only.  Russ frequently would copy and paste bits of conversation from the staff board to the WT boards, in an attempt to make him seem persecuted by other members of the staff.  Anything taken out of context can represent anything the person wishes to see.  This has made dealings of other Staff Members to the WT difficult and tense.  It is unacceptable.

 

    -  Insubordination and slander:  It has come to the attention of the staff that Russ has frequently slandered various staff members to other DM members.  The most recent was a comparison of Jason, Kathana, Fader, and Owen to Idi Amin, an African dictator who was know for his human rights abuses and his love of torturing people.  This is inexcusible and highly offensive.  It causes problems for the staff with the members of DM, shows an extreme lack of respect, and demonstrates Russ's inability to work with the other members of the Staff and be a team player.

 

This is an unfortunate turn of events, and the Staff is regetful that it turned out to be this way.  We had really hoped that we could turn it around and reform into a team again.  Unfortunately, though, it wasn't to be.  The wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.

 

A replacement will be announced in another post.  We hope that you will cooperate with the new WT DL and give a warm welcoming when the replacement is announced.

Hey Robin, I have a question.

 

Its my understanding that the WT Div site is being developed into a stand alone site in its own right seperate of DM.  If thats the case, will you and Russ be giving the DM info to whoever the new WT DL is?

to speak in DM terms, since I'm not sure if I can put it down understandably in other terms, I'm working for Russ. If he doesn't want it to happen I can not give anyone that information or I get sacked for ignoring my boss' wishes... I'm not going to get sacked on an internet community twice...

I don't think at this point it is clear what will happen. Everyone involved is at Euromeet in Amsterdam, and probably without access to internet. You'll have to wait until the weekend is over for this to clear up.

I apologise for not explaining this sooner - things were a little hectic what with getting ready for Euromeet and so on.

 

The reason that what used to be the Division site is down for maintenance is because we are going through it to remove references to Dragonmount and stuff.  Once this is done, the site will be back up, and all the important information which was there before will still be there. 

 

Once I get back to England and can focus without my head feeling like there's a Frenchman living in it, I'll work out the best way of getting the information over to Steve, so that he or the new DL or whoever can arrange to have it hosted here on DM, or somewhere else safe.

 

The White Tower site will still be there, but it'll be just a tiny bit different to what you're used to - you'll have to keep an eye on the forums there to find out just how different it'll be though.
