I would love to play this, in theory... but there are far too many of these that I haven't either watched the adaptation or read the book, in some cases both, and in the case where I am familiar with both, it's been long enough that I've forgotten :laugh:

Side-bar, the Dark Is Rising is something I read like 15 years ago, and I found it again thanks to Goodreads! The only problem is I now can't find a copy of it anywhere

Alright everyone, gather one, gather all!  It's time to announce the answers to the questions and declare our official winner of the Book or Screen™ competition!

(An apology to everyone for the tardiness and/or missing round of questions; things got hectic, as things are wont to do.  But that's no excuse!)

So first off, let's begin by announcing the answers to the questions and fill in the gaps of trivia.

1) In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ron and Harry know their polyjuice potion is wearing off because of the resurgence of Ron's red hair and Harry's scar.  Film; in the novel, the only indication we know the polyjuice potion is wearing off is because of Ron's red hair and his prominent Weasley nose.

2) In the Star Wars universe, the name of Han and Leia's son is Jacen.  Book; in the films, we learn that their son's name is Ben.

3) In Fellowship of the Ring, the dwarf Gimli is saved when Aragorn grabs him by the beard.  Film; no such event occurs within the books, and Tolkien portrays Gimli as quite the stoic character.

4) In A Game of Thrones, Benjen Stark enters for a feast with the Lannisters and House Stark later than everyone else.  Film (screen); in the books, Benjen is already seated with the rest of House Stark by the time of the feast.

5) In Sherlock Holmes lore, Holmes is described as having an air of alertness and decision.  Book; in the screen adaptation, when John Watson remarks that what Sherlock does is extraordinary, Sherlock replies that it's "not what people normally say."

6) In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, after boarding the ship Lucy gets her sea-boots in Narrowhaven.  Book; in the film, Lucy has a set of clothing that fits her perfectly as soon as they are hauled aboard.

7) In A Wrinkle in Time, Fortinbras is a greyhound that lives with the Murrays.  Book; in the film, he becomes Fort the German shepherd.

8) In The Chronicles of Prydain, the Horned King is a champion of Arawn Death-Lord.  Book; in the film, the Horned King is the primary antagonist.
9) In The Lord of the Rings, a malevolent person by the name of Sharkey conspired against the Shire.  Book; this is the moniker Saruman takes after he is ousted from his tower.  In the film, Saruman dies at Orthanc.
10) In The Dark is Rising, Will is a young American boy whisked away to fight a nameless evil.  Film; in the books, Will is a British youth.
11) In The Hunger Games, the Everdeens have an old television in their home.  Book; in the film, they have a projector.
12) In the Star Wars universe, Senator Sheev is an opportunistic politician that uses the political turmoil to gain some personal power.  Film; Sheev is the first name of Emperor Palpatine.  In the book, Palpatine is described as a somewhat power-hungry civil servant that tried to protect the people under his reign, but ended up being controlled by his lackeys who were his only source of information.

13) In Divergent, the character Four is twenty-four years old.  Film; in the book, Four is eighteen years old.

14) In A Series of Unfortunate Events, baby Sunny plays with the Deadly Viper.  Film; in the books, while Sunny has a friendly relationship with the Deadly Viper, it is instead used as a distraction for Violet to prove Stephano is Count Olaf.
15) In The Hobbit, Gandalf mentions "his good cousin Radagast" to Beorn.  Book; in the film, Radagast shows up as a part of the main plot.
16) In Star Trek, Delcara sets out on a vendetta against the Borg to destroy them with a Planet Killer.  Book, though the events in this are said to be the catalyst for events within the show proper.
17) In Serenity, Inara Serra leaves the crew to instruct companions.  Book and film; this event does not change between either version of the story.
18) In Lord of the Rings, Frodo overhears Strider singing of Beren and Lúthien on the way to Amon Sûl.  Film; in the book, no such interaction takes place on the way to Weathertop; though it is a hauntingly beautiful moment.

19) In Eragon, Saphira is a blue-grey dragon with feathers.  Film; in the books, Saphira has the appearance of a more traditional Western dragon.
20) In Game of Thrones Sam gives Gilly a thimble.  Film/Screen; this scene does not occur in the book.
21) In The Chronicles of Narnia, the Pevensies never witness the bombing of London.  Book; in the film, the Pevensies witness the bombing of London firsthand.
22) In Star Wars, the iconic call sign given to Luke was Blue 5.  Book; in the film, they changed the color to make the iconic call
This was one of the most universally-missed questions >.<
23) In Dune, Bene Gesserit are bald women with telepathic abilities.  Film; there is no such description of the Bene Gesserit in the books.
24) In Harry Potter, Hogwarts appears as a dilapidated building with a "KEEP OUT: Dangerous" sign in front of it.  Book; there is no such description in the films.
