ummm.........

i'm an artist in So Cal, and love trying food, especially desserts (anyone ever have baked/candied cheetos?). i'm currently waiting for bbq season to make my own beef jerky, also currently trying to catch a giant black horse on the new Zelda game. but more importantly i now really want some actual brownies

Welcome to the BT! Are your voices friendly?

What does that matter? Only for wheter the Light or the Shadow is the correct faction, right? Friendly voices mean the Light, ones that tell you to kill everyone around you is the Shadow.

There are a thousand food threads if you dig but this is as good a one for recipes as any :). Derailing is good, and since Still the BT, food isn't really even a technical detail.

Baked/candied cheetos and jerky please?

I'll dig up my standard evil brownie recipe to start,

mostly c/ping this from other places I posted it - including gluten free and dairy free options. Tested and awesome either way,

fudge brownies...

melt 1-1/4 cup butter, coconut oil, palm oil, or other oil you like to bake with

beat with 4 cups sugar

beat in slowly, one at a time, 8 large eggs

stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla

************

sift or whisk together 2 cups all purpose flour or gluten free all purpose flour (cup for cup substitute type)

1-1/2 cups cocoa,

and 1 teaspoon salt

***********

stir the dry into the egg mixture until just combined

*************

optional:

stir in 2 cups chopped nuts

stir in 2 to 4 cups enjoy life chocolate chips (gluten, dairy soy free), or any kind of chocolate chips or chunks you like, and/or candy pieces and/or marshmallows and/or dried fruit (cherries are teh nommiest) or whatever if desired.

***************

you can either spread the batter into a greased 15 x 10 pan, a 13 x 9 pan or two 13 x 9 pans, depending on how thick you want the brownies.

**************

bake at 325, about 40 - 35 minutes in a 15 x 10 pan, about an hour or so in one 13 x 9, check it after a half hour in two 13 x 9's...

don't overbake, you're going for not quite set in the center.

if you like you can spread chocolate chips or bars with or without karshmallows on them while they're still hot, they'll melt in ten minutes, and you can use a spoon or knife or spatula to spread them smooth for a nice hard chocolate coating.

i'll have to look up the jerky one as its not on the computer. basically we soak strips in the same marinade we use for steaks then bake on the lowest setting or close to it in the oven until they dry out.  the cheetos though:

             1 cup butter

Bring butter, sugars, syrup to boil stirring constantly for 5 minutes while boiling. Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda. Stir well. add Cheetos. Spread out onto ungreased cookie sheet.Cook at 250°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour -stirring every 15 minutes. When cool break into pieces

no idea only done the cheetos. but i'd imagine it would. its essentially like a caramel, sticky that doesnt super harden. taste wise you could try it on other stuff. hmmm.....would be interesting on doritos.....

though whatever you try it on has to be as sturdy as a cheeto because the process of breaking it apart will break the chips.

and those brownies sound great! man with peanut butter cups and marshmallows.....now i'm hungry.

Oh ya very good with peanut butter cups. They're even good with peppermint patties but my favorite is heath bars.

I think the cheeto recipe would work with sturdy chips maybe... trying to figure something dairy and wheat free, and I'm pretty sure earth balance would work for the butter. May have some experimenting to do....

No but now I have to, and maybe cherry coke.

I've out Dr Pepper in ham and pulled pork. Yummmm.

And I'm thinking of candying bacon....

Vegetarians, Avert your eyes.....

We're getting 1/2 a pig and 1/4 cow. All I can think of is how to spend the next year cooking it mmmmmmmmmm....

And I really want a tiny baby lamb but I expect they're all bespoke for Easter. Such nommy little lollipop ribs...
