Bert looked at himself in the viewing glass. He didn't look all that bad! He flexed his left scar-arm a bit and admired himself in different poses. "Oh yeah! Gimme some!" he grinned at his reflection, which in turn grinned back. Looking behind to see if Dram was still sleeping, which he appeared to be doing, and if Ramai had yet to return, which he had, he felt somewhat thankful. Couldn't be caught doing this in front of his roommates. What sort of reputation would he get on himself!? A bad one, no doubt. Deciding it was time to put on a shirt, he put on a shirt, and some pants, and got himself all washed and ready. Today was their first day off, and he, his roommates and Zoe had decided they better go somewhere and get toasted. Smiling slightly, he heard the door open behind him. Turning he saw what he'd expected, Ramai had made his entry, and seemed just as ready as Bert to get out for a while. Dram was sleeping deeply, even though he had been informed of the plans for the evening. Bert walked over to his bed and stopped in front of it. Then he looked at Ramai, who nodded vigorously, and after that, looking down at Dram again. Poking him didn't do any good, except for making him grunt a bit, so Bert decided heavier methods must be put to use.

Picking up a cup filled with water he slowly dripped some on top of Dram, which made him move about a lot. Bert grinned as he tipped the goblet on Dram's head. As he came up with a start he found himself looking straight into Bert's eyes. "Mornin'!" A few second, Dram seemed to not know how to react, then his face soured as normally, and Bert smiled a little more. "Glad to see you're awake! We shall depart soon, ready yourself!" mumbling angrily, Dram got up to get ready. Looking at Ramai, Bert could see him poorly hiding a grin. Bert chuckled and made for the door...

Zoe looked out the window at the setting sun. It was the first day ever since she and Bert enlisted that they were given a free evening. They were allowed to leave the Fortress grounds and there was no chance Zoe was going to waste that evening catching up on her sleep.

She put on one of the few fancy dresses she had. A long velvet dress, slashed on the right side, revealing a generous amount of her right leg. Her cleavage wasn't entirely appropriate, but Zoe never cared for that. Of course her dress didn't even come close to the sluttiness that was Selindra. But she could give the tramp a good competition.

Sadly, Selindra saw her getting ready and Zoe had to reveal the little outing with the others. Selindra said she might join them later and Zoe shrugged. She didn't have the hearts to tell her no.

Going out of the room to escape Selindra's constant squabbling, Zoe made her way towards Bert's room. She got a few stares from some officers who passed her by but she ignored them completely. Off duty she was allowed to wear what she saw fit. Impertinent fools!

Just as she was about to knock on the door, it flung open by Bert. She smiled and waved her hand. "Hey Bert. Are we ready to go?".

On his way out out Bert noticed that Dram didn't seem to be wanting to get up, as he simply dried his face, cast Bert a wrathful gaze and got back to bed. He murmured something like «Maybe later...» Shrugging Bert cast Ramai a glance, and headed for the door, slamming it open, only to find a slightly shocked Zoe outside."Hey Bert. Are we ready to go?" «Why hello you!» Bert exclaimed and took her hand to kiss it, which he indeed did. As he straightened himself after the kiss, he noticed how beatiful she looked. She wore a most stunning velvet dress, which showed quite some skin. And what cleavage. He found himself staring sheepishly. Zoe grinned and slapped him on the top of his head. «Shall we go then?» She smiled, then looking over his shoulder at the grumbling Dram, added «Isn't he coming?» «He said maybe later, so maybe later it is» Bert nodded. She also shrugged, and greeted Ramai before the three set out to town.

Walking down the relatively crowded corridor, Bert was feeling better than in a long time. That was, he felt better than in a long time, till he saw Selindra prance towards them, looking more like a doll than a child of the light. A future child of the light, that was. Bert raised an eyebrow at her approach, as Zoe drew him closer to explain the situation. He sighed a bit then shrugged. «The more the merrier, or what?» Ramai and Zoe shrugged. «The answer is yes!» Bert exclaimed as Selindra caught up to them. «Why hello there you!» Bert said. She smiled and did some sort of movement of her hand. Bert didn't know what it was, but he supposed it couldn't be bad. «Well, shall we?» He said, and marched towards the main gate...

Zoe pouted when she noticed Selindra catching up with them. She hoped it would slip her mind or that she wouldn't be able to find them. But her hopes were in vain. Selindra soon joined the group, flaunting her cleavage. The wench.

Letting Bert lead the way through the streets, Zoe had no idea where they were heading. They were after a good inn, but there were more then a few to choose from. So she just enjoyed the laughing and talking while they made their way. The Royal Swan inn was the one which finally caught their eye and they all walked in.

The place was crowded but luckily for them, there was one empty table, practically waiting just for them. They all sat down, Bert winking at Zoe and Ramai staring rather suspiciously at Selindra who was busy moving her body ever so seductively to attain all the eyes around her and hold them fixed on her.

Zoe sighed. She knew Selindra's presence would put a damp on the outing. But before she could start drowning in her own misery, Bert moved his chair a little closer to her and started being his friendly self again, when he wasn't busy being friendly with the maids, that is. Zoe ordered some mulled wine while Ramai and Bert ordered ale. Selindra ordered water. She probably couldn't hold her liquor. It could have been amusing to find out.

Zoe was going to order another cup of mulled wine when suddenly a music started. There was a musician standing on one of the tables, playing a violin and singing with the tune. Zoe joined the clapping of the rest of the crowd, and laughed as people started to get up and dance. Zoe smiled and looked at Ramai, who was still looking at Selindra strangely. "Ramai, care for a dance?".

Quite confused by the appearance of this new face, he stared at Selindra. Ramai knew Zoe had a dislike for her, just from her attitude towards the woman. He felt a strange sort of enmity between the two, unsure of why he would he daydreamed quietly, contemplating this new hurdle. The abrupt offer from Zoe broke his attention. Stammering a befuddled sentence, he spoke; "No, no, i'm quite al.." He hadn't even time to finish his sentence before Zoe grinned roguishly at him, grasped his hand and pulled him from his seat. Ramai's foot caught on the bench as he was hauled away from the others, tripping him and sending him stumbling against Zoe. She giggled girlishly, pinching his behind quickly, before laughing even harder at his confused expression. The laugh warmed him, and Ramai found himself laughing along.

Zoe clasped his hand and slapped it on her thigh before leading him into the dance, as many others also did so. Not being a fantastic dancer, he stood on Zoe's feet more than once, but she just laughed at him and carried on, seemingly free of worries. A certain envy and admiration filled him, wishing he could escape his so easily. But she did have a certain way of making him forget them, however briefly. He grinned, seeing Bert watching them in their dance, giving him a sly wink before carrying on.

Zoe couldn't stop smiling. At first, Ramai accidently stepped on her more then a few times but after a while he got the hang of it and started spinning her about. Laughing, she hanged on to him, a little woozy and light headed from the sudden movements.

After a few cheery songs, started a more slow one, to Zoe's delight. She was getting tired and a slow dance was right down her alley. Ramai was a bit unsure what to do, so Zoe grabbed his hands and circled them around her waist and then procceeded to circle hers around his neck.

Moving with the music, she smiled up at Ramain. Conspiring to get Ramai nervous, she put on one of her angelic smiles. "You have beautiful eyes, Ramai. Did you know that?"
