I have a nagging feeling that lizclov is town everytime I read mrsclov... there are a few things i like about liz tone is 1, but her gameplay doesn't make up for it. And I know tone isn't the easiest thing to fake, but once people learn how to its hard to use it for or against them so i am trying not to let it factor in my decision to much.

Atm I don't really see me going to vote anyone but eldrick or lizclov. Tink is someone I wouldn't mind lyching but its a much bigger gamble and less reward.

BAHH I really think there is a wolf in eldrick/livclov.... [v] eldrick [/v]

going to read notbob then go to bed i think.

^^^Good vote^^^

That's not my meta of you, but you're definitely trying to stab.

I recommend getting a sharper weapon, Darthe is tough to kill.

Darthe, did I say I was trying to kill you? Pay attention to what's being said and stop reading based on "feeling"

either you're town and being reactive/irrational (as in not actually responding to what's being said to you) or you're scum and hiding behind evasion. I'm pointing out provable untruths that you keep repeating. You have done nothing to actually address any of that.

You claim to have a meta on me, but you forget all the times that I've hounded you as town? I don't believe in alternative facts, so don't expect me to not challenge you on that crap.

Okay, really going to stop responding to you for real. Until you follow up on your promise to reread the thread at least.

I said it feelz right and now you're misrepping as if I am an emotional player in a lot of your posts.

That'd be hillarious if it weren't such a pitifully reductive way to try and back out of this.

You're gonna die, you know?

You are an emotional player. Your whole reaction to me was emotional. I understand that you don't like to see yourself that way, but basically your reaction to me pushing you was "OMG THEY"RE BEING SO MEAN TO ME YOU GUYS!"

Much like your reaction in FF7 when you finally got enough pressure on you to start responding to questions instead of acting like you're too cool for school.

I might die. And then you can figure out how you played so poorly today that you got town killed because of an irrational tunnel.

I honestly wish I thought you were scum, because it would make things really easy for me. But I know your type, whether you want to acknowledge it or not. And unlike you, I actually have learned from past experiences playing with you.

Catching up now. Hope to see that you've done your homework in the meantime...

perhaps he thinks your scum independantly.

I'm already on record as suspecting that they're working together.

And if they flip town?

If they flip town, we go to night. Same as if they flip scum.

Then day comes and we begin putting the pieces together to sort out who's who. Just like every other day of every other game.

Seriously, why are you acting like this?

So you also intend to vote me if they flip town? Is that what you're saying?

I'm trying to save someone who I think is town because the buildup on them was too easy. And you intend to kill me over it?

@Cass why are you still voting Darthe? What's your current read on him?

So you also intend to vote me if they flip town? Is that what you're saying?

I'm trying to save someone who I think is town because the buildup on them was too easy. And you intend to kill me over it?

nope i think their scum and that if they flip scum that your a partner.

if they flip town i will have to reevaluate

And that is perfectly fine. I would expect nothing less from how hard I defended them today.

But I got the vibe from DPR that he would lynch me tomorrow regardless of their flip.

This is picture-painting and lynch-baiting.

Bad play.

And what is wrong with it?

Quote 1. How I feel you are approaching the game and thought dice agreed with.

Quote 2. Worried about Cass' vote on darthe. If the reason is because of the joke vote at the beginning it looks terrible.

Quote 3. Exactly as it reads. Willing to take the hit for town if I'm wrong and they're scum.

No.

You're going out of your way to paint a completely inaccurate and negative picture of me, and doing it without any evidence. You're also creating scenarios before events have occurred and fear-mongering based on those scenarios.

This is terrible, terrible, anti-town play.

That makes MORE sense. But as I said before so many people are hung up on that post that it feels too easy.

That's because it's obvious.

They can't all be scum, now can they?

Of course they can't all be scum. That wasn't the point.

Point is that usually when a bunch of people converge on a single point like this, it's on town. I've never seen it happen on scum. And a good portion of the time it's led by scum, and they get town to pile on.

Cuth is the one that started pushing this point. Darthe and you have persisted on it.

I feel like that's what's going on here. And if they flip town you guys will be suspect.

You do realize that you are basically just a huge WIFOM machine, right?

I'd change his name to muddy waters.

Darthe: Darthe's only real contribution to the thread at this point has been pointless fluff and picking up on a joke post I made about RVS voting him and then running down the tunnel like there's a pile of gold at the end of it.

Incredibly disingenuous and also very false. Ive not made 3 fluff posts this game and I have content, including a read, on almost every player who has posted.

What are your reads? I must have missed them. I've seen you make a bunch of snarky comments about people voting/not voting you and you throwing out "so woofy" in response to nearly every post that MrsClov and I make. I have yet to see anything that amounts to productive content.

Put in your own effort and go look. Maybe it'll gain you a credible thought on me.

Talk to me directly ad stop throwing shade. If what I'm saying is wrong, then prove me wrong.

Facts matter whether you feel they do or not.

Ok lets settle something here.

Do you know what throwing shade means? Do you even know what shade is? I dont think you do, because youre using it wrong.

Similarly, do you get how this game works? Saying that your alignment is town and thats a fact doesnt have any weight, whatsoever. None. Zilch. Nada. Do you know why?

The answer is that we are uninformed, those of us who actually randed town. I have no way to factually know anything about you, as it is D1, the same that I dont know whp your teammates are or where id go if you flipped x. It's impossible to know.

So go ahead and shut that crap down and ask some real questions or ill happily lynch you to get rid of your thusfar wolfy slot.

Okay, last one (because I missed this before).

Show me where you have responded to any of our posts (before you recently came under fire yourself) with actual content about what it was that you found wolfy, that wasn't "yeah, what he/she said" or that said something that wasn't "this is wolfy".

The bolded is what you've been trying to refute by saying that you "know" that we are scum. I'm not the one pushing that you should know our alignment if you're town. I'm the one who is saying you haven't done anything to explore our

^lynch it first, thank me later. Im simply right, and you can follow me or you can apologize later when its proven.

Again, and I really want you to answer this question. And if you don't remember, we danced this tango the last time we played together so I'll remind you (in case you forgot) that I'm not going to let you get away with evasion or a flimsy answer.

What happens if you get your magic wish and MrsClov and I are lynched. We're going to flip town. What happens then?

And don't say "you won't flip town" because that's a nonanswer. So humour me.

Sure. I've got a bad read on notbob so I'll analyze your train, mostly ignore you but reread mrs clov, and assess from there. Prob notbob given current info

Good, I look forward to your conclusions.

Don't know why you'll ignore me though, given that I left you with lots of open questions. But I'll let that go for now.

And just so we don't get stuck in a circular "what are you talking about" "omg, i just told you!" argument again, here is the homework you promised to do.

I didn't promise to do jack, I answered your question which is penchant upon you dying.  Self vote, flip, and you can get that work from me.

So you're telling me you have no ability to think in terms of alternate theories at the same time.

I"m going to hold back on the snark, but I really want to respond to this really snarkily right now.

I'm going to stop responding to any of your posts until I see you saying something beyond your one note. I think you're town. But you're doing a piss poor job at it at the moment.

Just more of the terrible.

Any chance I could talk all of you out of constantly referring to old games? Maybe just go by the posts in this one, which would be really great for the town players that weren't in all of the others...

Okay, HFS you people blab and blab and blab and blab...

Too many people have unvoted Kizzy - I get the part where we don't have a deadline and I do want to see game related posts from everyone before we hammer. But the now infamous post #309 (and subsequent defense of) needs pressure, especially in light of the account being hydra.

Unvote - Vote Kizzy Clov

I checked the Guiness Book of World Records, and it turns out that the scummiest post a mafioso can make is in fact "so who do you think my scummates are?".

Seriously, Lizbeth follows #309 up with one terrible response after another and then Mrs. Clov has to come in and do spin/damage control. But the common denominators connecting all of their posts seem to be:

1. Both players primary focus is to save their account - not to help the Town.

2. Both players beg for mercy at different points and use the clock in their defense.

3. Both players have offered very limited reads, and I am including Mrs. Cov's list. The fluff is there, but the hard lines are lacking.

Ima leave it at that for now and see what else the tide brings in.

Yeah, I'm going to challenge on this.

1. You're going to have to explain to me how saving our account when we are town is not helping town. And I'm going to argue that we've done as much or more than 3/4 of the players when it comes to advancing the thread. It's not our job as town to let ourselves get mislynched while sitting quietly in a corner.

2. point out to me where I begged for mercy, and when either of us used the clock in our defense?

3. MrsClov posted an entire list of her thoughts, and both of us have identified a number of players that we consider to be town. Which is more than you and several other players have done to date.

LOL

No doubt you've choked the thread with your double-team machine gun of poop, but the quality of your content ranges from zero to negative. All either of you has done is defend yourselves, including your directionless speculation and constant defense that has added a horrible amount of reading to cover.

Half of your posts are begging people to look at things in a "different way" because you're going to save the down and blah, blah, blah...

MrsClov's read list was as bad as your observations. Ima nutshell it for ya: anyone who has supported you in any way is Town and everyone else is suspicious.

Just terrible.

Ok. So back to thinking Lizclov is town, after realizing how much attention they are getting. It is screaming LHF.

I'm suspicious of Darthe for trying to push the lynch so hard.

That's SK talk.

I'm quite curious about Wildfire not checking in yet.

Oh are you? That seems super important, Lol.
Concerned mainly. She was pretty active early on last game and considering she was the one who asked for me to be summoned I assumed it meant she was eager to play. The fact that she hasn't even checked in yet concerns me both for her as a person and what it could be as an alignment. Until she checks in it doesn't really mean anything though. Can't read what isn't there.
Folks if you have no other reason to read Miss clove as a wolf, this would be enough. She is going out of her way to put suspicion on a player for having not checked in yet in the midst of being sussed on thread and having low activity regarding those who are around.

This right here in particular. Horrible reasoning to suss them for. Being suspicious of someone that they expected to be excited for the game is a good reason.

But more importantly the post comes off as worried about the person more than it does suspicious of the player, and it feels like you are just trying to find something to get them on.

LOL. You hittin' up Darthe for LHF? LOL.

I disagree. What would you think she should do given her being under suspicion?

Then youre wrong. She shouldnt focus on some lutlier, she needs to be hyper present to make herself appear more open. This isnt that, it's a distraction.

What's a lutlier?

Liz and I combine for 174 posts That's 2nd and 4th I believe. How is that not present?

He uses alternate facts.

I think we can take it. RESIST CENSORSHIP!

That's not my meta of you, but you're definitely trying to stab.

I recommend getting a sharper weapon, Darthe is tough to kill.

Except for this - this should have been censored. You just couldn't help yourself, could you?

I'm only quoting this because I want people to pay attention to it, especially the top part. I'll comment on DPR as a whole later.

I think it might be helpful to explain how I'm looking at things:

Scumhunting is the way Townies win.

Tone reading, lock clearing and deep meta comparisons are basically a waste of time.

Scumhunting consists of, among other things, spotting players who present circular arguments, determining when "logic" is self serving and connecting the dots where alliances are forming.

So far I have Eldrick down for ignoring common sense logic and presenting circular arguments.

Kizzy Clov is guilty of self serving, presenting circular arguments and going into full-tilt panic mode, despite the  vote count against them never going to L-1 (which is where the pressure point is, imo).

Both slots are working what I see as an alliance.

Both slots seem the obvious choices to lynch. I have thoughts on some other players, but none this defined.

It's that simple.

Kizzy Clov is my choice to lynch today and Eldrick is on my radar to sweat tomorrow.

I'm following the Pirate on this for now.  Unvote, Vote LizClove

Still do not like WiFi's disappearing act...IIRC...she used to have that habit.

I don't hate it, but to be fair, WIFI did post a temporary reads list at least when she got around page 14. I forget what post it was exactly. A follow up  post regarding thoughts would have been nice though.

GTFO

Post #310 should have been this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv7Ui4z-ga0

DPR, I am going to comment on this.

you keep commenting on old material without addressing any recent developments. It's easy to keep going "post 309 post 309 post 309" and call it a day.

But I've already explained why that argument no longer holds water because I've provided proof that I have used a similar tactic successfully in a previous game here on DM. But you don't want to address that, because that would force you to have to change your narrative.

You can't say "town would never say this" because I've proven that I've said it as town. Whether you think its a good tactic or not it's irrelevant to our alignment.

You can keep saying "they're being self-serving and defending themselves and they haven't done anything" but you won't answer my question about what you expect us to do as town when we're being tunneled on.

Eldrick, Seph and Cuth have at least engaged us, asked us to clarify, they've actually tried to figure out our alignment. You've done none of this. Neither have I yet seen you explore any other leads. And I'm going to challenge you to show what you've done other than throw "post #309" in my face. We were in the thread starting conversations and following up on things when you were just popping in to vote Eldrick early on some flimsy basis (and you never responded to my question about what you meant by that accusation, which I asked by the way because Eldrick mentioned that you had tunneled on him when he was town in a previous game, and I foolishly expect people to learn their lessons from past experiences).

You're either playing lazy scum or lazy town. But don't expect me not to call you out of it.

But I'm going to try not to respond to your posts as I'm catching up anymore because they're just full of repetitive nonsense. I've never played with you before, but from what I've heard you are not a new player, so it's not like you have the "newb" excuse. Hopefully it gets better in the next 10 pages, but I'm not holding out much hope at this point.

I'm gonna take a stab at trying to explain why Cuth's unvote was confusing for me, and why it differs from my own.

Cuth's vote was for the same reason as mine. Because of liz's comment.

I have to speculate on why he unvoted, because he didn't answer me (or if he did I missed it). My speculation is that he unvoted because Liz asked him to step back and reconsider. He did so and also asked seph to (who immediately complied)

I didn't get the feeling that he suddenly thought Lizclov was town. I felt like he still suspected them, but didn't want a speed lynch. But his suspicion of them has seemed to vanish.

My reason for unvoting was because I felt like that particular post was getting way too much attention. When something like that happens, it tends to be on town. And is usually scum driven too. I don't have a super confident town read on Lizclov, but I feel like there's a good chance they are.

I don't think Seph unvoted us.

But I did get the sense that Cuth's unvote was based on a progressive read. He responded to the post that MrsClov posted from my old game and said that he hated it but he could see that I had played a similar tactic before as town.

caught up but now have to go to bed.  see you all in the morning.....oh and please don't blow up the thread....  :laugh:

Okay so to explain this without AtE, just the facts:

1. I live in a nursing home

2. The CNA's leave @ 23:00 EDT (the ones that are supposed to get me ready for bed.  the night shift aides don't like getting me ready for bed and they do a shitey job of it, so.)

3. They do rounds @ 22:00

4. They have to do my nightly care the latest 21:30 which means that is my bedtime

5. I pushed the time so I could get caught up

6. I didn't want you all to think I was neglecting the thread by posting in the morning and then nothing for a whole nother day.

7. So, I posted the above to let you know:

A.  I was reading the thread throughout the whole day - minus meals/brb

B. That I finally did get caught up but couldn't post cause I had to go to bed

So, you are probably wondering what I am going to do now? right?

Well I had a lot of thoughts last night, which I quickly forgot overnight.  Now don't go all nuts over that.  Who would remember 20 pages of stuff after sleeping all night?

Now: I am going to do a reread of maybe 20/30 pgs (which will take me awhile) to get caught up and then give my thoughts.

UNLESS: I notice something I want to give my thoughts on right away and then I will post my thoughts.

I never knew WiFi...do as you will...but I like to respond to post as I read them...even if most complain my thoughts are choppy...at least they get me reads as I read them.

Best wishes,

Splitting these up because ugh giant multiquote

Potential overexplanation - there's a difference in my brain ;)

General thing, not just wrt Eldrick - I'm reading your tone as different from your general 'I do my own thang!' and 'someone's WRONG!' in couple of places so far

Eldrick - Basically because the initial approach was sus and the confusion doesn't read entirely genuine imo. Possible that I'm sticking too much to bias from early pings there.

Do you think he was genuinely confused? If so, why?

I do think he was genuinely confused. He gave his explanation of what he thought each time, and it would have been an odd way for him to twist my words if he were scum just trying to find an easy way to frame me. Especially when he misread me saying that I wasn't trying to please him as suggesting that he should be trying to please me.

And I do do my own thang. And they are WRONG! :P

In a nutshell I thought the difference between ENFP/Dice vote was obvious, and that Eldrick misconstruing it was sus. I'll re-read him as an ISO and later in in Hackers where he was Town, but initial take was that it wasn't genuine confusion, and this (pushing what I read as derpy confusion) is something I associate as a strong feeling I got in the first game I read him playing in. Gonna be honest and say that my brain is skipping over the sentence full of pleasing. Lol at the bottom.

Can you explain the bold?

(I don't know if this attempt at editing quotes will turn out right, but I'm too tired to doublecheck, so forgive me if it's a mess. I rally hate the nested quote system at DM :( (love the PM system though!).

Eldrick seemed confused about what I was saying. When he responded to me he said something about him trying to please me (thinking that's what I had said to him) and I had to explain that I was talking about me not trying to please him/other players. And then he went "ohhhhh!"

Dice also misconstrued the whole enfp/vote thing. So what's your current read on Dice?

Eldrick seemed confused about what I was saying. When he responded to me he said something about him trying to please me (thinking that's what I had said to him) and I had to explain that I was talking about me not trying to please him/other players. And then he went "ohhhhh!"

Dice also misconstrued the whole enfp/vote thing. So what's your current read on Dice?

Awwww ninight Linds, sorry I'm so sloooooooooowwwwwwwww! <3

Can you explain the bold?

ugh.

I don't hate it, but to be fair, WIFI did post a temporary reads list at least when she got around page 14. I forget what post it was exactly. A follow up  post regarding thoughts would have been nice though.

Post #310 should have been this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv7Ui4z-ga0

DPR, I am going to comment on this.

No announcement required, just jump right in.

you keep commenting on old material without addressing any recent developments. It's easy to keep going "post 309 post 309 post 309" and call it a day.

I give you my opinions in real time and after having caught up with the thread unless otherwise noted.

But I've already explained why that argument no longer holds water because I've provided proof that I have used a similar tactic successfully in a previous game here on DM. But you don't want to address that, because that would force you to have to change your narrative.

This is garbage play. Stinky, left-out-in-the-hot-summer-sun-for-days stinky. And just becuase you've "explained" something, doesn't mean anyone bought it (see the current vote count).

I've used lots of techniques in past games. They mean absolutely nothing in context to this one. Your explanation ain't worth 2 cents.

What does matter is your play, and in this game, your play has been terribly distracting with no scum hunting at all. None.

You can't say "town would never say this" because I've proven that I've said it as town. Whether you think its a good tactic or not it's irrelevant to our alignment.

Maybe you've played poorly before - that I believe. Doesn't mean that we need to suffer it again, especially since it has dominated D1 to the point of naseau.

You can keep saying "they're being self-serving and defending themselves and they haven't done anything" but you won't answer my question about what you expect us to do as town when we're being tunneled on.

Can and will darlin'. And coaching you ain't my job.

Don't care. I'll let the game judge the quantity and quality of my posts. Yes I have. Post #309 - own it. You're wasting the hell out of everybody's time.

You're either playing lazy scum or lazy town. But don't expect me not to call you out of it.

Do what you gotta do.

Pretty sure I never gave the "newb" excuse. What's getting better is the vote count.

Oh boy.

I'm in blue above.

I don't think Seph unvoted us.

But I did get the sense that Cuth's unvote was based on a progressive read. He responded to the post that MrsClov posted from my old game and said that he hated it but he could see that I had played a similar tactic before as town.

He did Unvote. Cuth asked him to Unvote and he did a few mins later.

But now that you mention it, I do remember the bit about your link to the old game and how it swayed him. I looked into it myself to see how it compared to this one.

(There are similarities and distinct differences. It was N1 in that game vs D1 in this one. Both were before a scum flip, which was the crux of why I had a problem with it. Not sure if it's relevant, but the person you asked (cory) was town, and the person you were comparing to (sooh) was scum)

I disregarded the link at the time because it was before a scum flip, and fit my "wrong time to do it" mindset. But you DID do it as town. Important note.

NotBob

Awkward... heh

I'm curious - why do you keep telling everybody what other players think and giving reasons for why they did things?

Just seems odd...

The fact that you've done this before as town doesn't really absolve the actions in this game.  Outcomes do not dictate strategy, especially in a new arena.  The comment drew votes and attention.  I'm not convinced until the flip but you have really offered little alternatives.  My WTL is LizClov, Eldrick and Darthe.

Actually iirc dice was a joke vote too.

Dice? Current read on Lizclov and why.

My vote was never a joke. And its staying put.

Recap on why, please?

Dont like the "haVE TO CONFER ON dARTHE BUT CAN VOTE dICE WITHOUT IT) sorry caps lock sux.

havent been a fan of a lot of both their posts. tone has been hard   and i CAN see why some would call it aggressive   and defensive even when i was the only vote. the beating a rug comment still irks me as i take it as a poke at me that was totally wrong. I dont really care about the partners question but i havent liked the repetitive open ure mind look at others posts.

they havent really been in danger of being lynched  the votes seem to hit 3 or 4 and stall.

so I think they may be scum. I could be wrong I could be right but thats where im going.

i get that you're trying to create interaction

and i'm fine with that and that's great, really it is

but i'm not fine with your reactions to any pressure on you

if you know you're not scum then you should never start asking "who would my partners be?"

that makes no sense as a question that town asks

Read what I wrote above.

And I hate when people make statmements like "that makes no sense as a question that town asks"

Just because you don't understand the reason for the question doesn't mean it doesn't serve a purpose.

no legitimately

if you are town

you know you're town, yes?

therefore that question does not make sense to ask

because you'd know the assumption behind it is fundamentally flawed

you know you would flip town if you got lynched, so why are you saying people should 'look at potential partners' so that the game is more winnable from d2 on?

you know you'd going to flip town

you know you wouldn't have any partners and so anything said about partners and you would be totally invalid after you flip town

you've pretty much convinced me that that was a legitimate slip

Mind meld with the first bold Cuth, but the second gives me pause - how is that a slip?

'Who are my partners then?' is a question I've used in frustration as Town and as distraction as Scum, I can see it going either way here from Liz. Also ftr afaik neither Liz nor Mrs Clov are inexperienced mafia players - that part of your #847 is sticking with me so please explain?

what bothers me is that he says hes convinced it was a slip  yet he has now unvoted them and said he wont vote them today iirc

Dice I'm going to try to not be super snarky about this, because I think this stubbornness is typical of you as town.

Catch up. Cass and I were JOKING! You know a joke? I feel like I have to add in the laugh track here....

Like when I said "oh yeah this is usually where I vote Darthe"? Because you know. That's the point in the thread where I've RVSed Darthe before. Hahahaha.

And then I said "but I have to check with my partner".

And then Cass is like "dooooo eettttttt!" (hahahahahaha - because you know, she had already RVS voted Darthe)

And I say "but i have to check with my partner so she doesn't dump me" (hahahahaha)"because I don't want her to dump me for being a wild and crazy ENFP" (this part is mostly serious, because we hadn't yet talked about play styles and how comfortable she was with me doing the kind of thing I usually do in games - which you should know about. Because you've fricken' played with me before and we had a similar fight over you being pissed off about me pressure voting you which resulted in you almost getting yourself killed and letting scum get away. Remember that?)

And meanwhile back at the ranch, MrsClov has already given me her blessing.

So when Cass says "let your ENFP freak flag fly" (I'm paraphrasing, but still insert hahahahaha!)

And then...because this is how jokes often work...I flip things around and say "Okay! vote dice!" (hahahahaha, I did something different from what you expected!)

And maybe, instead of being reactive you could have let things play out, with the knowledge (or what you should have of knowledge) that an RVS vote does not = intention to lynch. You didn't ask "do you really think I'm scum"? You reacted and started this ridiculous tunnel that we're finding ourselves in right now and that we have to keep responding to over and over again and I'm seriously going to be pissed if you're town and cause us to be mislynched because you were overreacting AGAIN!

Sorry...I did get snarky there. But I was annoyed at you last time and it annoys me this time.

/.rant.

And for the record, part of the reason that I joke voted for Dice rather than Darthe at that point was that I wanted to see where Cass would go with her vote on Darthe. I'm hoping she'll have explained where she's at with her vote on Darthe by the time I catch up.
