Hi everyone,

Jason here. RJ asked that I post the following pictures of his cousin Wilson. (See his other blog post to see what he was talking about) Here’s the note he sent along with the photos:

Here are a couple of pictures of my Cousin Wilson which I would appreciate you posting. He is as close to me as a brother, and in fact has always been called the fourth of the three Rigney brothers. He is also the first to come through with the promise to shave his head when my hair fell out. In fact, he didn’t wait. When I had my hair clippered, he had his shaved.

Is it just me or do the Rigney men have heads that are great for shaving?

BTW — Sorry that it took me a few days to do this. I was out of town until today.

Enjoy.

Ariel’s first picture was when she was participating in Young American’s which is a group for older kids and teens that teaches them how to put on a musical show and exposes them to theatrical teaching. http://www.youngamericans.org/ It started 40 years ago and the picture was taken at the end of her performance after working with one of their groups who came to Charleston. The second picture was taken a few weeks ago just before she went to her 8th grade dance. Needless to say, her mom is very proud of her cutting her hair for such a great cause and also in support of her uncle. I wish mine had been long enough to do the same but our support and love are with him. Thank you to all of you for your support, love, caring and continued reading of how his life is going right now. You have no idea how much it means to him and Harriet…and to his family also.
    Love,
    Melanie (his niece)

I’ve been wondering for some time which of your many names Harriet calls you. And, which name do you refer to yourself?

    Thanks!

Hi Rj! Hope ya get well soon! The bald hair looks creepy-biker. I’ve been thinking a lot about Arthur-Seanchan connections lately, and I didn’t know where else to ask. Hope ya don’t mind. Is Luthair Uther Pendragon? Is Pendragon(dragon’s head) intentional? Is Rand related to Artur Hawkwing? Is Seanchan Saxon? Is the Consolidation about Uther conquering Britan for Arthur? Did Artur have an iligitamate child with Ishara(Ygraine)? Just a few. If it’s RAFO, let me know. Even if it ain’t, I’d like to know. Let me know if you have the time. Get Well!

It’s funny how in these situations you come to discover who’s really with you. Who’s really family. And when I say family I don’t mean by blood. I mean by love. Wilson did what you would have done if the situation was reversed. It’s how it works. And it’s beautiful.

Robert, I’m not wishing you a speedy recovery since it is quite obvious to me that you’ll have one. I wish both you and Hariett all the fortune in the world.

    cheers,

    -Nurit

One of my husband’s aunts just sent us a copy of New Spring- the Novel (she was attempting to order Book 1, and didn’t realize she needed EotW, heh), and as I was reading I thought I’d see if there was a tentative/firm release date for Book 12 (been reading WoT for years now and have books 1-11, great great world to immerse one’s self in).

I am sorry to hear you are ill, and am wishing you and Harriet all the best- good health, speedy recovery, and great food. Our family’s prayers are with you all.

    Dear RJ

Glad to hear all is progressing well. Last year I went on the most fantastic fishing trip up in Scotland with my family including my uncle who I adore. He’d just been diagnosed with Alzheimers and bowel cancer within the space of two weeks. We didn’t know the prognosis when we went on the trip but he’d lost a heck of a lot of weight and was pretty tired so things weren’t looking good. He was in pretty bad shape but he was still on the river every day, gorgeous Labrador puppy by his side (who although completely nutty with everyone else, always settled and was gentle with him). Will never forget the afternoon when it was ridiculously picturesque; approaching dusk, the river running, salmon leaping and splashing down, sun catching the water, silent except for the sound of the water and Cobweb panting, smell of summer, gorgeous spring flowers, my uncle telling me pompously that I was casting too quickly and then “hurrah-ing” a good cast, him warning me against wading into the river, me ignoring his advice with complete abandon only to fall squarely down on my butt whilst trying madly to hold onto my rod. Pure heaven – despite the fact I didn’t catch a thing except ferns and rocks. It was all the more special cause we thought it was probably the last trip we’d do together.

Got back to find the news wasn’t good, he was given four to six months as it had spread to his liver. After a big dose of chemo he had another scan last week, both tumours have shrunk to half their size, he has no more secondaries and he doesn’t have to see the specialist for another six months so it’s looking good. He’s eating again, has put on weight and is back to his old bombastic self. In fact right now he’s in Scandinavia with my aunt who is having a well deserved break. She’s been through so much too, especially with Alzheimer’s on top of it all, half the time he couldn’t remember that he had to have chemo…Things seemed dire but with true British stiff upper lip fighting attitude he’s pulling through, even the Alzheimer’s is going through a quiet patch. So yet another good news story to add to your growing pile. Best wishes to you and especially to Harriet. Look forward to hearing of your first successful fishing trip on your recovery, I trust you’re much better than I am. hopefully my uncle will be up to another expedition this year, I’ll perfect my casting technique and finally land my first fish.

    Regards
    Sophie

btw: i echo the approval for the dome look. Looks most distinguished.
