Im not saying im not happy to have you back(I thought you guys died or something…3 moths since youre last podcast) but this just isnt good enough. no one is going to forget you promised TGS episodes more than two months ago. giving us some dusty old episode and “luring” us with ‘pillow friends – PG-13′ crap isnt gonna cut it. thanks but no thanks. WE WANT NEW EPISODES, WHEN DO WE WANT THEM…?

We are starting to think you are not comming back and this podcast is done. If thats the case just tell us and stop waisting our time…

To say that it’s insensitive would be a major understatement. And when it was done repeatedly just made it an insult. Levity is one thing, but rape isn’t a subject for that. Please take this podcast down.

Posted by taith on February 19th, 2010 at 8:01 pm have to say, i agree with BV… pillow friends is funny, and consentual… taverinal rape, not funny.. and to say that boy meets girl, boy twists girl around finger means rape is a little of a stretch… taverin or not… that happens all the time IRL… taverin just changes the odds odd that mat changes the odds the most, yet rand gets all the girls… tho fair to say, he’s the only un-married one of the lot…

Posted by taith on February 20th, 2010 at 2:00 pm i understand that ray although, having a podcast which can be rather insultive to those that have been though it, is anti-productive… sure freedom of speech is important, but at what cost? i can swear up a storm at everybody i meet on my way to the storm… but should i? might it come back and bite me later? the point is to avoid conflict, not create it

Have a sense of humor for creators sake If you dont like it, TURN IT OFF. Cant the podcasters have a little fun sometimes? I know some of you spend too much time on the internet, with your common senses eroding away, but C’mon get a life Thank you to the podcasters, I have listened to many different podcasts and I have to say this is one of the best! I hope Jason comes back on and Andrew(I’m also from the midwest) and Virginia give ‘em the Blight (Ohh that was not PC hahahah

Posted by Andy on February 23rd, 2010 at 3:43 pm I have to say I didn’t really enjoy this episode, but not for reasons others have stated. The language didn’t bother me; I’ve listened to far racier. That it was from pre-TGS didn’t bother me either; I didn’t even open the book until January and I think having a buffer period to let as many people read it before discussing new material is a good thing. No,what bothered me most was the content, or rather the lack thereof. This was obviously edited, leftover material from an earlier podcast, and IMO should have stayed on the cutting room floor. Unfocused, jumping from subject to subject (and not in a good way), and really just sort of adolescent observations on the WOT, this episode wasn’t up to the quality work this team has established for itself. I understand it takes time to edit this things together, so I’m willing to wait. I do think, though, that the editing should be done on material worth listening to.

Posted by Andrew Gelos on February 25th, 2010 at 6:40 pm Hey guys- Before the back and forth goes much further, I just wanted to say that there was a lot of debate over whether or not this episode was ever going to be aired. No, rape of any kind is never funny, and it wasn’t the intent of the podcast then or now, to make light of anyone who has had to endure such a traumatic event. It was a hard decision to make, and the final decision to air the episode came after quite a few reviews and discussion over whether or not it should have made the cut. In the end the powers that be decided that the show was not too taboo to air, if that was in error, we apologize. It was not our intent to insult or cause stress to any of our listeners. As to the feedback concerning TGS episodes. Yes they exist. Yes we are struggling to get them cleaned up and out to you. Some of the data was lost with the theft earlier this month, and we are just finishing re-collecting it from our secondary recording unit. Would we take any help we can get? Yes. I’m honestly not sure what else to post at the moment. We are just starting another recording session as I type this, and I felt that before we started that one of us should post something on behalf of the podcast in this comment section. Those of you who continue to listen despite our varied faults, thank you. Suravye ninto manshima taishite.

I can’t really believe some of the people in the comments here, complaining about lack of episodes or lack of focus or whatever. And I have to say that if there is one character that I would consider doing real harm to, it would be Padan Fain … I just can’t STAND that guy!

It was conducted by (If I’m correct) Jason, our host founder/administrator. I know we asked for the recording so we could post it, but I’m not sure what ever became of the request. It is a small comfort to me in an odd way that these sorts of things happen, because it shows me just how often these sorts of delays happen outside of our own podcast setting. It makes me feel less alone knowing that it happens to a lot of us. Heather, thanks for the support. Thank you everyone who has supported us on this one. I wasn’t very involved with the decision making process on this one, but it was obviously tough call. We know we won’t always post things that listeners will agree with or like, but we do try our best. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if we are repeating the same pet theories, presenting new and/or compelling arguments, or just sticking our collective feet in our mouths. As for Padan Fain, I don’t know. I see him as an odd allusion to Smeagol in LotR in some ways. Sure Fain was bad to begin with and not just a victim of circumstance like the fish loving proto-hobbit, but in a way it is a bit endearing that we have someone who hates Rand not just because of what he is, but because he feels that Rand personally is a huge part of why his life is as demolished as it is. That said I want to see him gone, but in a clever and non-falling-into-a-volcano-ish sort of way. On a side note, I think that Fain would be an interesting character to play in a movie/tv series should it ever get made. Sadly, I think I might be getting too old to play Matt anymore and I’m not sure if there is a decent roll to be had among the protagonist minded post-twenties characters in the novels that I feel I could fill the roll for. I, being a Child of the Night, tend to laugh at things other people find desterbing, so take what i say loosely. I personaly LOVE Fain. I think watching him turn from a peddler to a wrechted Smeagol, to the great evil he is now is a fasinating thing. Sure, i won’t morn his death, but i like his character. question on the “Date Rape”, Rand “Date Rapes” Min, Elayne, and Avi, but did perrin do the same to the Falcon? and what about Mat? I don’t think the Ta’veren pull is what made him fall for tuon or vise versa.

He’s a little bit of a bad guy fighting the good fight. Hopefully we’ll see Logain rise above Taim and demolish him (aura of glory?). Seriously? Pillow friends? When Aes Sedai rarely marry, not all take on Warders (and even those who do, they don’t necessarily sleep with them), what else could be expected? Another reason to join the White Tower!! Hmmm…mindless violence? Moghedien for sure. Such a sniveling excuse of a human being (let alone a so-called “Forsaken”). And whoever Mesaana is posing as. I would like to trap her in her guise and torture her in that form…you know, take away her power and all. We know Moghedian was humiliated to be in her “lesser form”, so Mesaana is definitely asking for it.
