The Gathering Storm, the twelfth book in the Wheel of Time series, debuted at the number one spot on the prestigious New York Times bestseller list. This is the fifth WoT novel to hold the spot, and the first time that author Brandon Sanderson has been there. Gathering Storm’s appearance on the list ended a six or seven week reign that Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol had been holding onto. Congratulations to Brandon Sanderson and “Team Jordan” for this outstanding effort and accomplishment. And of course, congratulations as well to the late Robert Jordan, who’s book this truly is. Robert Jordan was Lews Therin. Brandon Sanderson is RAND BLOODY AL’THOR. He channelled the knowledge of Jordan but made it his own. I laughed out loud and cried. The first in the series to make me do either. WOW.

Read the book in only 4 days! I got to say Sanderson portrays the story well. Wish there was more Perrin to it (I like the personal wolf conflict) but I’m sure he’ll get his share of the limelight in the other 2 books. I started reading this barely 2 years ago and I read all first 11 books in 2 months. I shocked myself with how much I loved the series. And shortly after, RJ dies?….
Made me sad. I wish for the others to come quick but I dont at the same time or that would mean a sooner end to the adventure… Man, I got teary-eyed at two points in the book: When Rand was being controlled by the male a’dam and was choking Min, and at the end where the old Rand finally resurfaces. Haha what a way to spend a vacation…

I just finished TGS, and I am damned proud!! It lets me know that there is still RIGHT in this world!! Whether it is real or not, that people, when forced, can choose what is right over what is easy! Nothing easy is worth doing but, if it’s right it’s worth everything. I was worried about Sanderson’s work, the book read faster but it was still important, you needed to know everything that was written, nothing felt left out. I missed Mat, Thom, & Perrin but I have a feeling they’ll get their story told soon! Can’t wait for the next one!!

Just finished TGS last night and loved every page of it. I must admit I was a little worried if the feel would be the same but Brandon did a wonderful job and it almost feels as if Robert is being channeled by Brandon. Great job and can’t wait for the next book. Tick Tick… The wait continues.

Just finished The Gathering Storm on Monday. I could not stop reading the last three hundred pages, it is as exciting as any of the other eleven and better written as far as pace and tension go. I used to get frustrated as I waited for the next book to find out what happens to Matt or Perrin where this book touches on all of the main protags. Left me hanging with the mysterious letter left with Matt by Verin, hope that he opens with that in the next book. Major changes have taken place and I am looking forwards to seeing how they all come together. Please oh please lord, don’t let me die until this series is complete.
Thanks for the great read.
PS no I am not sick or planning on dying soon, but anything can happen.

Like many other WoT fans, I too was worried about the final book(s). I started reading this series when the first book came out, so I have patiently waited from book to book for nearly 20 years. Like other fans, I was quite saddened by Mr. Jordon’s death, but also extremely disappointed that my journey with his colorful characters and all absorbing story might be at at end. It was with much relief and some trepidation that I found that Mr. Jordon had not left us without ‘dessert’ to complete our meal. But I worried – could someone else really pull this major feat off? The pressure – geez! I just finished TGS and I want to cry because I have to wait another year and another. The book was absolutely amazing and I cannot stop walking around with it, clasped to my chest, telling everyone I see how fabulous it turned out. I know it was because of the genuine desire of Harriet and Brandon to stay true to the original journey…and to produce something that would have made Mr. Jordan proud and give WoT fans a stunning conclusion. Unbelievable! Thank you so much!!
