Tor Books has sent us the exclusive first look at the cover for THE GATHERING STORM, book 12 of the Wheel of Time series. The cover art was painted by artist Darryl K. Sweet, who has done the covers for all of the other US WoT novels. What do you think? (Respectful) comments welcome. More Info |

Wow, this cover is just awful… As an ex-pat Brit living in America, I really miss the British covers…
Rand’s right arm is extremely short, his hand is super tiny, his head is ENORMOUS and he kinda looks like he has down-syndrome.
Meanwhile the stumpy armed girl in the background with plastic barbie-doll hands has 2 big, black caterpillars attacking her eyes.
The sky doesn’t look so much like a “Gathering Storm” as it does a nice, tranquil sunset.
I could go on… *sigh* when will American publishers realise that their audience isn’t entirely made up of menopausal women?
