I don’t know what to say. What words are there that can encompass such a loss. I started reading the wheel of time when i was fifteen, as a source of comfort when i left my home country and moved to india, and through the years they have helped keep me sane, and make me who i am today. The world has lost something it will never regain, and it is somehow darker because of it. It was Robert Jordan, amongst others, that inspired me to write. He will never be forgotten.

I would like to pay my deepest respect and condolences to Robert Jordans family, and his wife Harriet.

I first started reading WoT in December 2006, but it gave me an experiece of a lifetime, I have already began rereading the books.
When I were going to write a school projects about RJ and his books I were shocked to read that he had passed on. He has inspierd me greatly in his writings and was by far the best and greatest author I have ever read books from, and I have read a lot of books although I am only 17.
His books have made me want to write my own, though I will never reach his level.

“May the last embrace of the mother welcome you home”
I hope we meet in the afterlife

I first started the wheel of time series in 1990, 2 days after the first book hit the shelves. I sat up in bed late into the night until I finished it, I was hooked, I was 17. Every time another book was due for release, I already had it on order and my local bookshop would ring me as soon as it arrived, the last few I got delivered to the door, they new what sort of a WoT nut I was. I have read and re-read this series so many times over the years, I couldn’t count them… but I could almost repeat them word for word.

My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

Living in Australia, I never had the chance to meet Robert Jordan, but I am sure, if he was anything like his characters, then he lived his life to the fullest, he laughed loud and loved long. My best friend wrote me a short note before she passed away recently, I pass it on to you in the hope that it brings some comfort in this sad time, as it did for me when she died…

Your love shines through everything, I’ve known you so long.
Through kindy, and primary school, I still remember that song!
We enjoyed high school together, friends through and through.
Then you moved to the country, I thought our friendship gone too.
Even when you were busy, you still kept in touch.
You always remembered, you never missed much.
I’ve learned to laugh all the louder, if something is funny.
I’ve learned to love all the harder, and not just love money.
You taught me to give my love freely, without expecting change.
You showed me how to care, even for that dog with the mange.
Your shoulders are strong enough, to carry the weight of the world,
But still they are soft enough, for me to cry on, too, girl.
You hugged me, and held me till my sadness went away,
You helped me get up, when I was knocked down again.
You have the hardness to keep going, when things really get rough.
Your heart is unbounded, no matter how tough.
I’ve learned to hold onto our friendship, through thick and thin.
If blood’s thicker than water, then friendship’s thicker than skin.
I’ve learned that making a living, isn’t the same as making a life.
I’ve learned that being a girlfriend, is different to being a wife.
I’ve seen you smile when things are so tough, your hearts really breaking.
I’ve seen you hold things together, given speeches worth making.
I’m glad we were friends, even sister’s I’d say.
Cause having a friend like you, shore does make my day.

    RIP RJ.
    Tammy.
