Each month, beginning last month (October), they will release the next book in the series. THE EYE OF THE WORLD has already released been released and is currently available in eBook format. This month, THE GREAT HUNT will be released. Here is a sneak peak at the cover that will be released with it. The artwork is by Kekai Kotaki. This is very nice. Way way way better than the original. But it still seems outdated. The painting-like style just doesn’t seem very modern. The new cover art for Shadow Rising and Fires of Heaven have a more “realism” look to them which I think would attract newer readers more efficiently.

obviously its better than the current covers, and i like it a lot, but i cant help feeling it would have looked so much more cooler if the cover was of rand and ishamel fighting in the sky. just my opinion. also TGS is the best book ive ever read!

Whoa, cool cover. Here’s hoping they commission that artist to do the covers for the whole series in print. I can’t imagine how many potential readers are turned off by the current incredibly lame covers.

Amazing work from Kekai Kotaki, but I really expected no less. He has been doing great work for ArenaNet as the Lead Concept Artist for Guild Wars for quite some time. When the new covers were announced and I saw his name on the list I couldn’t wait. I wish he had gotten my favorite book Fires of Heaven, but he definitely caught how I’ve always seen the Wheel of Time in my mind. He does not disappoint! Truly amazing work!

•To The Blight – 11/16/10
•The Hunt Begins – 11/16/10
•New Threads in the Pattern- 11/16/10
These books are basically The eye of the world and the great hunt devided in two seperate books each in order to appeal to a younger audience.

I prefer the original, but this is much better than the EOTW e-book cover.
