It was announced today that Book 13 of The Wheel of Time series will be titled “Towers of Midnight“. Also, the title of the 14th book, which will conclude the series was confirmed to be A Memory of Light. On his blog, Brandon Sanderson wrote:
Towers of Midnight (Note the lack of the word “the” in the title) is currently still being written. Brandon hopes to turn it into the publisher in late 2009 or early 2010. He estimates that the book will be published in late 2010, approximately 1 year from the time that THE GATHERING STORM comes out. A Memory of Light will likely be published a year after that, in late 2011. This was the title Robert Jordan originally wanted the last book in the series to be named. When it was originally announced that the WoT series would be finished in three novels, the working titles were Gathering Clouds, Shifting Winds, and Tarmon’Gaidon. Those three have changed and are now The Gathering Storm, Towers of Midnight, and A Memory of Light. So what do you think the title refers to. (I’ve read Gathering Storm, so I shouldn’t comment). Let the speculation begin! Reply in the comments, or head over to our forums. Also, if you are on Tiwtter, use #WoT13 to share your thoughts. More Info |
