Though we don't have a direct answer from Robert Jordan, it certainly seems probable that they get their money the old-fashioned way. They collect taxes and rent. Tar Valon is a hub of trade and commerce for all of Randland and the Aes Sedai run Tar Valon. Divide the taxes on all that trade among only a few hundred women and it's an enormous amount. On top of that, the Aes Sedai certainly own vast estates amassed over three thousand years and they charge rent for the use of those lands. All in all, the amount of money the Aes Sedai have does not seem out of line.
