Will there be a movie or TV miniseries based on The Wheel of Time?

On August 13, 2008, Red Eagle Entertainment announced that Universal Pictures has acquired film rights to The Wheel of Time™ series. Adaptations of the series will begin with the first book in the cycle, The Eye of the World.
