The Heroes of the Horn are the people that Dragonmount feels have contributed the most to online Wheel of Time fandom. These are the people who have devoted years of their lives to making websites and events for fans of the series. No matter how much the popularity of the books rises and falls, no matter how daunting the task may be, these are the people that keep going. If you enjoy reading theories, having debates about Asmodean or Tiamandred, role playing, or even just reading the latest news, then these are the people you have to thank.

More names will be added to this list as time goes on. After all, new heroes can always be added to the Horn of Valere.

Melissa Craib

Inducted on September 19, 2003

In the last two years, there have been few people who have had as large of an impact on Wheel of Time online fandom as Melissa Criab.

Melissa is the "CEO and founder" of TarValon.net, a very successful website that is geared for WoT fans who wish to be involved in a more real-life fashion. Her website went from being just another geocities website to being a dynamic and multimedia-rich site that is updated reguarly. She oversees a near army of staff members, and is just as active offline with them as she is online. In addition, she is a frequent collaborator with Charles Keegan, who has publically stated that he's asked her advice several times on ways that he can more accurately create the book covers for Starscape's Young Adult editions of the novels.

In a very short time Melissa has taken her site to the top and created a solid following of active members. She has grand plans, and we are quite certain that we've not seen the last of what is to come from her.

It is an honor to welcome Melissa Craib to our list of Wheel of Time Hero of the Horn.

Jennifer Liang
Jennifer Liang
Inducted on September 19, 2003

Jennifer (Shifflett) Liang has greatly contributed to two successful fan groups. Since 1998 she has been the Organization leader of the White Tower at Dragonmount. Her org has easily been the most successful org at this website and is the model for which all other orgs try to emulate. Despite the difficulties and conflicts, she has dedicated herself to that cause. The result is that her org is known well outside of DM. Over the years, several fan sites have been built around the same structure that she has setup. She is the Internet's longest-standing Amyrlin Seat, and well-deserved of the title.

In addition to her accomplishments within this website, Jennifer has made a name for herself as the organizer of the Wheel of Time at Dragon*Con. For the last three years, she has coordinated and ran what has turned out to be the largest annual WoT event aside from Robert Jordan's book tours. She works directly with Tor Books and other WoT vendors who provide her with prizes for the event. Each year brings more visitors and more success.

We are very proud to welcome our own Jennifer Liang to the Wheel of Time Heroes of the Horn.

Mike Mackert
Mike Mackert
Inducted on September 19, 2003

Mike Mackert is the man behind the ingenious website, wotmania.com. The site began about a month after Dragonmount opened in 1998. In that time, Mike has essentially single-handedly developed the entire site and established wotmania as one of the major places online for Wheel of Time news and fellowship.

Mike's technical background has allowed him to create custom features and games at wotmania that are not seen anywhere else. The community that he has built is extensive and extremely close-knit. It's pretty hard to go to wotmania and not make a few friends.

It is a privellige to welcome Mike Mackert as a Wheel of Time Hero of the Horn for his amazing contributions to online fandom.
