"He came like the wind, like the wind touched everything, and like the wind, was gone."

A Memory of Light is the title of the forthcoming conclusion to The Wheel of Time saga. Like The Gathering Storm and Towers of Midnight, this novel will be completed by Brandon Sanderson, based heavily on the notes left behind by Robert Jordan before his death in 2007.

Release Schedule
The hardcover and audiobook editions of the book will be published on January 8, 2013. The ebook will be released on April 9.

Prologue and First chapters
The opening portion of the prologue is available for for free right here on Dragonmount.

The full prologue will be made available to fans before the full book is released. No date has been set for this. It's likely that it will be made for sale, as previous prologues have been.

Finally, Tor.com is likely to provide at least one or more chapters for free after the prologue has been released.

Artwork
Darrell K Sweet was commissioned to paint the book cover. Unfortunately, Mr. Sweet passed away before he could complete it. He did complete a first draft of the painting, which he referred to as a "color sketch." Here is that image:

After Mr. Sweet's passing, the commission was given to renowned artist, Michael Whelan. Mr. Whelan's cover is shown below. You can find wallpaper versions of this image on Tor.com.

This is an older video from May 2011, which provides some additional development news (now outdated) on the novel. It also includes some theories on what we can expect to see.
